I might send her in for paint in the Spring, after that I don't see why she can't take down some show events the way she looks.

Which mags do you think I should hit up?

The new wheels did give her a whole new look. I saw the picture of how low your skidplate is to the ground and don't know how your get over speedbumps.

I might have a lead on some sideskirts and am still hunting for some Mtech 1 pieces before I send her in for paint. They are the last piece of the puzzle.

Those are the wheels this vert really diserves. Looks great, and with the MT1 skirts will be perfect. Out of curiosity, what suspension do you have on. And how low were you before going lower. Am assuming those are 16x9 all around.

I have Ground Control coilovers with 440/650 springs and Ground Control Camber plates maxed out at around -2deg camber.

The previous ride height with the 225/45/16 tires on q 16x8 wheel would be 23.75" front, 23.0" rear

I dropped the front perch 1.0" and rear 0.5" and with the 215/40/16 tires on a 16x9 wheel is 22.25" front and 22.0" rear

So an overall drop of 1.5" front and 1.0" rear, the front will come up a bit when I adjust the camber when I get the alignment done.

Last August I decided to finally replace the OBC with the analog clock that has been sitting on my desk for over a year.

Well that took a whole day and, I got the car back together at 1am and proceeded to drive home from the office... then I noticed that the bulb that illuminates the HVAC sliders was not lit.

So I decided that if I am going to have to pull apart the HVAC again I might as well install the oldschool Nakamichi CD player I have...

then I realized I can just cut and splice it up to the stock radio wiring...

then I proceeded to take the interior apart to get at all the wiring...

I realized afterwards that being OCD, a perfectionist, not searching online BEFORE doing the work, reading up on said research made an afternoon install turn into a 5 day and night ordeal.

So in the middle of the night I started removing the center console to take the HVAC panel out

While the panel was out I decided to detail it

Black spray paint is your friend for touching up the interior

I love the random wires I would later decode

The next day I start removing the interior and pull out the speakers, having the right tools to remove trim pieces makes things a lot easier

Hood release gets in in the way on the driver side

              Passenger side

              Rears

Might as well clean things up before making a mess

When I removed the door sill trim pieces I found this long black wire

I traced it and it was connecting the trunk switch pin to the alarm. As you can see in these pictures the insulation got pinched open and the wire was grounding to the chassis and causing the false alarms I was getting for a very long time.

Here is a bunch of wires that were exposed after rubbing against the metal post in the background, so had to do some quick patchwork.

So this is where I wish I did some research, took a look at the electrical diagrams and mapped out what these wires were before I started pulling them out

Turns out they are the speaker wires that go to the stock speakers. I decided to reuse the wiring instead of running new speaker wire and found out afterwards it is much harder to put the wiring back into their snug locations than pulling them out.

Installed a set of Clarion coaxials in the rear.

Beware that just because a speaker fits on the passenger side it MAY NOT fit on the driver side due to the top cover release handle being located there. The speaker was too deep and some metal needed to be cut from in order to clear the magnet.

Crossover is hidden behind the factory trim panel

Running the RCAs... pulled them out, laid them again... this is where being OCD sucks. I did this 5 times and ended up laying the RCAs just like I did in the first attempt.

Installing the cage for the Nakamichi CD-45z

                HVAC panel back in

Nakamichi deck, clock and freshly painted trim pieces installed

I decided to build a simple rack to hold up the amp and used some stock locations on the metal for mounting

The idea is to hide the amp between the rack and a removable front trim piece

These are the inserts I made to press into the top piece in order to isolate the MDF from the threaded metal bolts

                Test fit the top

                Bolted down the amp

Setting the height of the cover

                Wires waiting to be connected

                Everything screwed down

The last thing I needed to do is wire up a mini RCA input jack so I can plug in an iPod. I decided to use the ashtray as it would double as a storage space for the cable when I am not using it

So I was debating between chasing after an E30 'vert or a coupe, and this car cemented it for me. Absolutely wonderful work, and it's got a wicked stance. If only I had the cash for it...
