If that wing is for function why wouldnt the dtm cars have been sporting.... all I can think of is Superbird. Slap on a reg wing with gurney flap and its perfect

but dudes,,, comeon its Frank fahey!@!!!!!!!!! it must be functional!
DTM cars couldnt run a wing like that because with the rules they needed to run "street" stuff-- hence the evo I/evo II/ evo III-- they were all parts that were added later in the years

ohh, and the wing is the ugliest stupid thing in the world---- and if it really did help, it couldnt help so much to make up for its uglyness.

I wonder if when it gets to ludicrous speed, would it also have some hideous wings that deploy from the bottom so it can fly away?????

The car looks great with the exception of the tail from Moby Dick.

I guess everyone is an aerodynamics expert now.

                    function
                    -------
                    form

It's made to be fast, not win car shows. If you guys think that's stupid, you'll really like this one:

                    85 325e m60b44 6 speed / 89 535i
                    e30 restoration and V8 swap

Its a racecar you morons. The wing is built to the max of BMWCCA rules.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

                        True story kids.

I've seen this car run down and slay a TC Kline carbon coupe at CA speedway. There is no way that could could be built for that kind of money. Just for some perspective, Frank is building a S52 that can handle 11psi reliably for my boss. With the front mount intercooler and install it'll end up costing somewhere around $18,000. I wonder if Frank is selling it to help fund his E24 M6 LS7 project.

Did Frank just pull the wing off of one of his M1s and graft it on?

Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Especially not for that price. I know there is a big function over form band wagon now, but that wing is just stupid. Like it was stated before, BMW did just fine in their professional racing with the stock wing with a gurney flap. I have seen larger wings put on M3's but never one so Pepboyesk.
