It has been a long time! I kind of stopped working on the E30 because I totaled my daily, parted out and bought an e46 wagon. I know, its not an E30 but I always liked the e46 wagon. I did a lot a maintenance on it...
So last week, I restarted to work on my project. Since I have a 1995 S50, the retainer are known to fail when over rev happen. SInce this engine will go in a track car, I may happen. So, I replaced the retainers, and being there, also replace the valve seals. I'm not sure, but I think my retainers were staring to crack (see pics at the end of this post)

That's it for know. I will order the parts that are missing to finish dressing the engine. Also, I will get the body in the garage and start to work on it, since all the maintenance is done on the e46.

Finally got some time to spend on the car. The car is totaly disassembled!
I cleaned the engine bay and started to clean the rust, grind and sand blast.
I will sand blast all the rusted spots that will be visible once the car finished and all the spots that will be welded. For the other rusted spots, I will clean it with a wire brush on my angle grinder and paint it POR15 on it.

Still working on the engine bay. There is a lot to do! Quebec's winter is hard on cars. I could have bought a mint E30 body for like 24x times the price I paid for this one, and I wouldn't have lurned like I'm presently!
Here is an exemple of the work I'm doing:
My next hours will be spent on this part:
