I purchased this '89 325i from my cousin last year. He got it years earlier from his father, my uncle, when he passed. My uncle was an identical twin of my father, and being twins, my father had a similar black E30. Through the late 80s, 90s, and aughts, the twins each had these black E30 coupes with tan interiors. I purchased my dad's from my mother when he passed away several years ago. I converted that car, an '85 325e, to a manual transmission. Soon thereafter, I sold it to my brother. This car, the '89 325i, is also starting life as an automatic car. I'll eventually get around to doing another manual swap, but for now I'm having fun fiddling with it. Thus far I've been fixing things wrong with it and generally sprucing it up:
- new windshield
- new driving light
- new headlight
- scrubbed the carpet to get it looking new
- Cocomats to replace shabby floormats
- 325is front spoiler (original was missing; probably ripped off on a curb somewhere)
- new roundels on wheels, hood, and trunk
- oil change, fuel filter, fuel lines, etc.
- Odyssey AGM battery and custom hold down
- 20mm spacers on all four corners with original bottlecaps to achieve just the right look
What was once owned by my father (325e) and his twin brother (325i), is now owned by my brother (same 325e) and myself (same 325i).
