September 2020 Car of the Month: Stan

Editors Note: I noticed Stans car when he first shared it. It wasnt a bad looking Vert in my opinion with its early model cowcatcher, but he had a vision and what can I say... Look at it. Fantastic looking vert that looks to be the perfect "retirement car" as he calls it. Congrats Stan! You're R3vlimiteds Car of the Month for September 2020! ***

    Factory options:
Premium sound (but this might've been standard for cabriolet)

    Color: Alpine White 2

    Interior color: Cardinal Red

Engine modifications: None - Lots of deferred maintenance that we caught up to date

    Exhaust: Ansa

Transmission: This car came equipped with an automatic that was converted as part of my vision to a 5 speed

    Differential: Limited Slip

Suspension: Racing Dynamic springs / Blistein shocks

Wheels: 15" Euroweave with Nogaro Silver centers - 14' silver basket weave wheels with mounted snow tires for winter.

Exterior modifications: Euro bumpers, euro front grill, side marker delete, smoked turn signals, shadow line trim, replaced trunk lid with 3rd brake light delete, added iS spoiler, black plate filler between rear tail lights, MoBrighta brake light upgrade, Weismann removable hardtop for winter driving

Interior modifications: Complete interior swap to fully reupholstered red leather, with matching door cards, Cantaloupe BT system to play Sirius XM and hands-free radio, integrated phone holder/charger, OEM wind diffuser. Additional lights in the trunk.

Story behind the car: This car was first purchased at Century BMW in California. It passed through 3 owners then sat for several year. I Saw this car in an advertisement and, after a pre-purchase inspection, bought and shipped to Vintage Sports & Restoration in Bedford NH. They performed all the deferred maintenance. Then the search began for a lot of the parts that I wanted to make this the cabriolet I wanted for my "retirement car". Almost all of the upgrades shown above came from R3vlimited.

My friends house was a perfect backdrop for the photos. And, yes that is one of 4 of his Frua bodies cars, he has 2 1600GTs and 2 Glas 1700GTs

I learned recently that the PO had chipped the engine.
The Ansa exhaust may soon be changed to a Stromung after the recent group buy.

The name comes from my other car, a 1973 E9 coupe "The Great White" when I bought the E30, my son suggested the Sun Shark since it is a small sized great white. I never knew...

Stan I keep coming back and looking at the pics and the Vert looks great, it makes me very curious what the E9 looks like. You should post some more pics of it on its own thread. Lets see the GREAT WHITE! lol
