    Euro '93 520i Touring - the Silverback

Since moving to Portugal, I've realized I can't always drive e30's.... so I picked up this damn clean e34 touring here in Porto. One thing to note, modifying cars in Portugal is not really a thing... because its illegal to do pretty much anything. So, you find super clean & well maintained cars, like this, for 1/3rd the price of what you'd find in the US, without the rust!

Let me introduce this super clean granit-silber 1993 (April 1992 production) Euro 520i Touring (manual trans) with tons of bells and whistles.... with 311,000km (~193,000 miles).

We have an M50B20 that is pretty damn clean, and here's all of the other goodies:
    S339 Shadow-Line

Wow! That is clean! Almost like a warp back into time!

    Manual or auto?

Many other Vintage BMWs to hang with?

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

manual, a crazy amount of these cars over here are manual... like 90% and where I am, they are all rust free... i don't have a single lick of rust at any door, fenders are rust free, everything is damn mint.

it's hard to break into... you can find shops, but the getting the right shop that will find the right parts and not rip you off is a huge challenge thanks to language barrier. However, I got to go to a vintage race, that was a blast.

can you see me lurking in that other e36 racecar back left.
      ...

but onto the e34... the car definitely needs a tune up. There are a lot of little things that need attention on the interior, but overall it's a pretty solid car.

The M50b20 needs clean injectors, spark plugs, probably new coils (they might be 311,000kms old), fuel filter, vacuum lines, boots, a new exhaust, new suspension bits.

but first, look at this engine.

I brought a Nikon 3200 but need to get a new SD card, so I should start getting good pictures, and maybe some youtube content.

Anyways, I am very interested in sorting this car out, and tapping into the European car market and start getting parts, but I don't have tools either, so here's to a challenge!

A bit more digging and inspecting today.

The rear hatch harness needs a bit of work. I'm not sure what else the PO hacked up, but it looks like he did some cutting.

But this one just looks like the metal harness frame is rusted... I'm sure it's corroded in there.

And the hatch cover plastic keeps falling off... I can't really understand how many little plastic retainer screws are used to keep this fixed to the metal, I ordered a bunch of of the replacement clips, so we'll see.

I also started researching these rims I have. I want to improve the cars fuel economy and I want rims I don't care about as much right now with these haggard streets in the EU, and the tire size limits make the rear tire stretch too much for my soul out back. Well apparently the only other set for sale right now is listed at $4500.00!

Mine are not as mint, but they're straight!

        don't mind the brake dust...
Now... who wants to buy these... I'll take the tires off, box them up and ship them to the US.

I also did some digging on the HiFi stereo system. I have 10 speakers in the car and a substandard CD player. I want to upgrade the radio to something that does BT and can support the OEM amplifiers and 10 speakers! Gotta be bumpin' in this wagon. I also want to get rid of this cassette holder. What do y'all do here?!
