Reviving the 318i (or Turd Polishing 101)

Lurking on R3v recently and the itch to drive the E30 again has caused this. A lot of inspiration in this forum. The goal is to build this into something for track day events. Plus, entertaining the dozens of R3v lurkers is a form of accountability to keep going.

The day I bought it, over a decade ago:

The M10 in all its glory, also from a decade ago:

One of the first rust repairs, probably from a decade ago:

After, with excessive amounts of POR15 applied:

It'll be interesting to pop the hood and see how this held up.

A favorite pic from my SpaceX days, when the car ran well enough to commute about an hour each way:

And as she currently sits, (sad, neglected, but the potential is there):

Plans include rust repairs galore, paint, interior, probably an M54B30 swap. I bought the engine years ago for this car, may as well use it for more than parts to keep the E46 running.

But first, I want to get it running under its own power so it's not blocking in the white pickup that needs to go away.

Love it! Looks like you have a Euro front, but the OG rear bumper... I suggest reaching out to CubbyChowder for the 'high dive'

I also suggest you send me a PM with some details and pickup some r3vlimited stickers for the car
