Threw the wheels on to see what tires would fit. These tires are going to be REALLY close... I don't have the fender here, so I had to kind of wing it, but I ordered the narrower of the two that I thought would fit. They're pretty cheap, so I can always upsize...

    This is what I got...

I can't wait until the day I am a well-paid engineer. Damn. That's more coin than most here spend on essential maintenance.

Damn, I remember one or two of your threads from a couple years ago. Nice to see it finally coming together.

That color looks very close to what Dodge/Plymouth had in 1971. GY3 Citron Yella/Curious Yellow. You can't really tell if it's a green, yellow, or someone just peed in the paint?

holy crap i just noticed your build since 06... broo whaat?? i can appreciate the work and the design efforts but damn 4years+ to build a badass e30. planning/alternate_routes could have gotten you the same, saved loots of $$ and be done ages ago...minus the lead time on the wheels

i assume all the tooling is not in your house where/what do you do man?
              No more e30s for me.

it's not all about the ends, man. It's about the journey...

Besides... building something that has been done many times before... or building something no one else has EVER done.

isn't the best pic, but it rules.

Done in this color: plenum, rocker covers (shown), and timing covers.

Done in black: center spark plug cover, lifting bracket, alternator bracket. I will probably just sraypaint the pulleys black because i'm worried about belt slippage and PC thickness.

Not really. The only colors you will see under normal circumstances are body color, black, and gold on the wheels.

If you open the hood you will also see purple and some bare aluminum.

                          That's not too WILD.

here are some photo updates for you.

Painted my honda accord brake booster and polished my honda civic master cylinder and associated mounting brackets. Not a super siqqq job, but it will not stick out like a sore thumb in my uber clean engine bay...

                                BEFORE:

                                AFTER

Here's a shot of the new rear ebrake setup. Probably one of the few e30s with a completely new oem rear ebrake. Also pictured are purple axle, green dif, yellow strut, blue swaybar and orange subframe. Black is so boring.

Here is a shot of the freshly polished fuel rail. Did that tonight...

And lastly, for all you naysayers, here's a shot of the plenum, complete with polished/painted throttle linkage sitting in the engine bay to compare the violet to the green of the chassis. I think these two colors look stellar together!
