I have always thought the 3.73 was a bit short as well, but I figured I'd give a 4.10 a shot and see how I liked it just for shits (and it was the only one available, and my shit was too loud). It's fun, and it also discourages speeding on the highway. When I get tired of it I'll probably get something longer and build it for more lock.

I still don't know how you guys do it with the 4.10s.. I'm currently driving on a 3.73 (open diff :/) and I think this diff is too short as it is. Its not thattt bad but anything shorter would make first gear useless lol. Or so I think. I need me some lsd in this bish already

    OP nice work thus far!!

Yeah, it's a bit short (it's basically a 4.27 due to my smaller diameter tires). I can dump the clutch and go WOT off idle and not bog. But my last diff was STUPID loud, and this one is quiet as hell. Doesn't lock up much better though, I still peg leg it around the same uphill hairpins. I need to build a diff at some point.

How do you like the 4.10? I'm going from a 4.10 to a 3.73, it seems to me that the 4.10 is a bit too short for my liking.

Thanks bud, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Oh and it's 1.2G sustained actually, but I did technically peak 1.43 :p

I'll have to do some more logging when I have an actual alignment and the tires are warm.

    Anyway: oh herro

    Out with the old

    Here's the new (quiet) diff

Knocking the diff bushing out of the 4.10 was a matter of PBblaster and a BFH

    Filling the new diff

    Aand in with the new

Here's where my driveshaft was rubbing

    Off with the old CSB

    On with the new

Last pic before we wrapped it up

Now my driveshaft is vibrating when I get on it hard, due to the angle. I think I am going to get new u-joints put in because they are binding and causing the bad vibes, so to speak.

I'd be working in a shop too if I was able to. I'm not. That's all. :p

Recent ex wasn't a huge fan of the car, one before that liked that I worked on it. Fuck 'em, I don't really care--this will always be a huge part of who I am, if a girl left me for it I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Shit, that's a compliment if I've ever seen one. Thanks mang.

Had fun with the pressure washer today. This used to be completely covered in grime. I'm going to try and spot my PS leak now.

These R888s kick up all sort of little rocks on the road, it's awesome.

Haha reminds me when I swtiched from all weather tread to my Dunlop Z1 on stock suspension. All I can say is it was scary. Will be interested in how many miles those tire last you as I would like to switch to some R888 as my next set of tires.
