Just posting so that I remember this thread at the end of the day. Looks like it will provide some humor..

Honda's VTEC system is a simple method of endowing the engine with multiple camshaft profiles optimized for low and high RPM operations. Instead of one cam lobe actuating each valve, there are two: one optimized for low-RPM stability & fuel efficiency; the other designed to maximize high-RPM power output. Switching between the two cam lobes is controlled by the ECU which takes account of engine oil pressure, engine temperature, vehicle speed, engine speed and throttle position. Using these inputs, the ECU is programmed to switch from the low lift to the high lift cam lobes when the conditions mean that engine output will be improved. At the switch point a solenoid is actuated which allows oil pressure from a spool valve to operate a locking pin which binds the high RPM cam follower to the low rpm ones. From this point on, the poppet valve opens and closes according to the high-lift profile, which opens the valve further and for a longer time. The switch-over point is variable, between a minimum and maximum point, and is determined by engine load; the switch back from high to low rpm cams is set to occur at a lower engine speed than the up-switch, to avoid surging if the engine is asked to operate continuously at or around the switch-over point. The DOHC VTEC system has high and low lift cam lobe profiles on both the intake and exhaust valve camshafts.Comment

So your response to why you think "vtec is stupid", is to copy and paste a piece of information on how it simply works...?namely this

You continue to reinforce all of the accusations. It is mildly entertaining, but I'm starting to feel a little bad for you.
If r3v was high school, I'd expect you to come in one day and unload some semi-autos in a blaze of glory.

lol. Back in freshman year of high school i got bored, (had some family issues) and left home. I dropped out of high school, and got my GED. I went to college before anyone in my class got out of sophmore year. Then I got bored in college and dropped out, I became a cook then became a chef. After a few years of being a sous chef (second in command of the kitchen) I got bored and went back to school, and now here i am
i thought donkey kong was exclusive to SNES...Comment

i reread my entire thread this morning (boring day here at work today) and wow, it's chock full of laughs in some places, kindof annoying in some, and full of information i keep getting asked about. i mean wow. i'm also trying to figure out where some of the pics went cause my ohotobucket account shows some, is missing others, and some of them are like completely missing from photobucket that are present here and vice versa. WTF.
oh well, i just got off the phone with a company who makes dry sump systems and looks like i'm going to have some fun in the future. i have to do some research and figure out how to build a pan, but at least i'll have fun. well it's time to go to class i'll be back in a few hours.Comment

Well if nothing else, he has proved that he has the mental capacity to use Wikipedia! It is literally word for word on the DOHC VTEC section on Wikipedia. He was probably talking out his ass, as normal, when he said it sucked, but at least he TRIED to come up with a reason when called on for it. Give the guy some credit!!
On second thought, he still doesn't deserve any credit for anything he does...

Nice copy and paste, still doesn't explain why you think it's stupid. It's a smart system and effective.namely this
