Actually I have an 88 as well and was considering keeping the db's. I don't know why but I like them.

Started at 8:40am. Removal. Cleaning. We removed the subframe, diff and trailing arms for bushing installation. We got really dirty... rough day. We finished at 12:40am Sunday morning... over 12 hours of work.

I finished off the day installing the mtech cloth shift boot. I removed the ZHP and punched myself in the face when it popped loose. Was nice... and now have a welt on my forehead. Tomorrow we pop the heat shields back on and install the exhaust back.

That interior is mint! When did you decide not to do plastics? I thought I had read earlier you were going too, anyways just wondering...

Ireland's... which I should have done some more research(which means do a little at least). A set of RTABs and Subframe popped up new in packing for a good deal(20% off retail) on bf.c and I snapped them up quick! Well damn the fitment to the actual car is terrible. The subframe bushings fit into the subframe nicely. Fit to the car? They were off but that was remedied. Once on the studs they fit correct. No problem.

The RTABs? Lawdy. Fit them. Press them flat and make sure fully install. Put them up to the actual subframe? If 1 side goes in the other side is off by the thickness of the RTAB bracket on the subframe. Installed out of the packaging there was literally no way for it to install. Impossible.

So at 11pm last night I am dremeling in my garage with a sander adapter to 'trim' the bushings. Wow... now they fit like a glove. Tighten down their bolts and guess what the fitment is perfect. Just terrible. I hope they don't make noise. I lubed the hell out of them and the subframe. We shall see...

Fitment into the RTAB and subframe were good. Fitment to the car though. Not so much. In the end post install I am still happy with the buy. My friend who helped got AKGs which are harder but he has excessive noise BUT he said his arms slide right in. He did it alone...

Thanks. I like the boot. I didn't even glue it down. It fits perfect under the lip and the little feet hold the console. Perfect.

I thought you had plastics ready, changed your mind?

Yup. 88 is unique(I know that sounds really stupid like putting in a pink polka dot headliner to be 'different') so after seeing hardly any done up big bumpers I decided... big bumpers are staying.

^I like your decesion on the bumpers, I have an 88 and might keep 'em if mine were so crappy looking.

I would suggest pulling them LCAB's back off so you can drill and tap them to put a bolt through it and the bushing, or they will rotate on you.

The front ones? I ran this exact same bushing on my 99 M3 track car. I have the centered ones. They can rotate all they want and they will be in the same position. For whatever reason everytime I drive a car with the offset I don't like the feel of it. So I have always used the centered versions on my personal vehicles.

For some reason they looked to be the offset ones. But if they are centered ones I wouldnt worry about it.
Im going to be switching mine back to the OEM style here before to long also. I just dont like how the offset ones made the car feel.

Are you going to tuck and paint them?
