No painting done tonight, it will have to be Monday. Here are some shots of today's progress though.

    Seam sealer off the fenders:

    Primed:

Rust removed from the lower core support and more scuffing of the paint:

Nate working some dents out of the hood for me:

Then I began work on the hood, scuffing and lots and lots of rust removal:

I had a bolt broken inside the hood's nut-sert. I tried to use a reverse drill bit to remove it but it broke inside... UGH. Good thing I have pro's looking over me.
    The problem:

We tried to burn out the broken stud/drill-bit but it backfired. The broken drill-bit was the least piece to melt and this created a hole:

The final solution. Drill out a new hole and weld in a new nut-sert. Once again, glad I'm around professionals, I learned so much in one afternoon.

Chris choosing the proper bit size:

Nate grinding down the newly welded in nut-sert:

Chris adding Glaze to the slight imperfections:

    Problem fucking solved:

Sorry about no paint for those waiting. But here are some pictures of the color I chose.

    Sunlight simulated:

    Cloudy/night color:

More on Monday hopefully. If I get anymore busy at my own shop it will be later for the next update.

LOL.... My first thought when I saw the color swatch was a fruit roll up also. The generic Stater Bros. "made with real fruit" rolls.

Im going to have to see the finish product before I can say anything more. Awesome work so far though.

Clear coat is on and I had to go home and change my pants. Then I looked at these pictures and had to go change them again. I am running out of jeans...

Thanks Guys! like I said before still a lot of work to do before I can paint the rest of the car. Right now I am stuck between finding euro bumpers, modifying the US Diving boards or just going to plastics.
I don't really want to do plastics.

Also I am going to run a late model front valance, that will be heavily modified, most of the time. But I also have the BBS valance shown above, that will be for lapping day duty.

The PRO3 enduro engine (your old M50) will hopefully go in this weekend. But I need to figure out the E36 M3 brakes on my E30 M3 GC suspension first and foremost.

                            Damn that looks amazing.

It also makes me really glad that I didn't end up with a beautiful gloss paint job in my engine bay. The first time I dropped a wrench, or bumped one of the arms into it when dropping in the motor, I'd probably kill myself.

I was thinking about using that color for a long range project...maybe a bit more orange but WOW, that looks great. That glossy shaved bay...yummy! Im sure that caution is just needed when putting the bay back together.
