Im not pulling it for the weight, im pulling it to coat it with por15. That tar holds in alot of moisture because it gets small cracks all through it. Leaves lotsa places for water to just stay there and wreak havoc on your metal.

I agree that POR-15 makes a good barrier as well as fighting rust. Putting it over rust free paint on an area you won't want to keep checking and can't oil is a great idea.
While the weight of the trunk tar is good for traction, lead is better in places as low and far out as it can go. You'll get more traction with less weight, and once the swap and work is complete you can weight it up while on a four point scale to really get it balanced.. even with you in the car.
