This sounds about right. I was going to post that earlier but forgot.
Jordan "Stück" on e30tech had this exact problem. He moved his maf and all is well now.

Well I was just taught something pretty important by the masterminds over at TRM.
Apparently my MAF needs to be between 8 to 18 inches farther away from the supercharger. I misinterpreted the thing they said about the MAF and idle.
Unfortunately i got this info after the sun went down, so I have to wait til tomorrow til I can fix it.
The drivers side high beam is being removed, and the filter is gonna stick out just a little bit. They said that will fix all my idle problems, and I should be able to fully enjoy my setup!
I am excited as hell!Leave a comment:

Plugged that shit back in, and it fired right up.
It idled fine, right at 800.
As soon as I give it gas (a minute after it was idling just fine) it revved fine, then it sputtered down to 200 rpms, barely stayed alive, revved back up, then died.
TRM told me the idle is the hardest part of getting their tunes right. So I am out of ideas.Leave a comment:

I didnt find a single problem with any of the hoses related to the intake. Everything is nice and tight and where it should be.
The ECU and battery are currently disconnected.Leave a comment:

Will do.
I am running a diverter valve, and I am positive its on there right.
I will double check the small tube on the back of the intake. As well as all other associated tubes to ensure there isnt a vacuum leak.Leave a comment:

Yeah, let it sit for a while. Go through and make sure you don't have any vac leaks. Make sure the hose on the back of the intake to the icv didn't get blown off from boost. I'm sure your running a diverter valve? Make sure you have it hooked up correct.Leave a comment:

No driving today. The car isnt running well at all.
It has a lot of sputtering, and it runs like shit with the MAF plugged in, but if i unplug it, and then plug it back in it works better, but still not perfect. After a semi decent pull the idle will drop to about 200 before it stumbles back to 800, then it just dips to 600 and continues doing that, over and over again.
I have to call TRM tomorrow and get another reworked chip sent my way, which will hopefully fix this problem.
BTW, blue smoke is oil right?Leave a comment:

Well its all back together.
I had to modify lots of little things to get it all to fit, but I was unable to cut the valance cause I ran out of cutting discs for my Dremel, but I am going to buy more and cut it out next weekend, to let the intercooler poke its face out into the open air.
Videos are going to be frequent, and awesome.Leave a comment:

The oil cooler is leaking at the attachments for the inlet and outlet hoses, but it wont get tight.
So some quickweld is applied, and a few more coats will be applied to ensure it doesnt leak anymore.
While that dries the valance is getting installed. I think its only going to be cut a little bit in the middle, but I still have to look at it.Leave a comment:

I dont want anyone here to forget that sometimes, smart capable people become utter idiots.
I am retarded. The damn MAF was backwards. Flipped it around and now she runs very very well.
More videos to come.Leave a comment:

I was so excited to start the video that I forgot to keep you up to date on how the end of the install went.
This is the E30 of close close tolerances! There are so many things that are too close for comfort, but thats the way it has to be.
The TRM tune that cost an arm and a leg!

This hose is really close, but thankfully there is a bracket that keeps it from hitting the supercharger.

The lower intercooler piping, and the blowoff valve setup.

The intercoolers final resting location. Mounted it up using the E36 mounts, drilled into the radiator support. Worked out just fine.

The valance will fit with a few minor modifications, but I am contemplating cutting a big piece out of it to let the intercooler poke its face out into the open. Tomorrow I will make the decision for that, after I get some input from people.Leave a comment:
