That'll fix the power steering too...lol
As for the brakes, I just replaced the front brake lines tonight and pulled the MC off to replace the seals. Usually if there is a major loss in pressure like that either one of your brake hoses has a major leak, one of the 3 gaskets on the MC itself has given out, or the MC internals are bad. I hope its one of the first two because they are cheap and easy.

steering shake could be a belt slipping if there's oil on it
not enough fluid in the system?Leave a comment:

Problem was temporarily solved.
Power steering is gone for now.
Brakes arent bleeding at all. Pedal goes to the flooron the first push, and it will maintain pressure if you pump it twice in rapid succession.
Even a one second break will cause it to go all the way down to the floor. Even driving it around my neighborhood is a pain in the ass.
I really dont want to buy more new parts, but if people think the MC is bad I guess I gotta do what I gotta do.Leave a comment:

That would have to be your fluid system then because it eliminates the wheels from the equation. The shitty part is it is not easy to test those components individually...my money is still on that pump lol.Leave a comment:

The steering wheel will viciously go back and forth with the front wheels on the ground, or with them in the air.Leave a comment:

The steering wheel wiggles without the car being on the ground?Leave a comment:

The pump worked just fine before the rebuild.
This happens when the car is not moving, parked in the garage. It does it when the wheels are both on and off the ground.
The rack is a brand new rebuilt unit.Leave a comment:

There could be something wrong with the power steering pump, causing pulses in the pumping fluid which then translates up to the steering wheel. I am sure you have done this but I would also check the front wheels to make sure there is no damage causing a huge imbalance. I haven't dealt with this issue on E30's, but just taking from my engineering background...Leave a comment:

Thanks DJ.
I am having this issue where the steering wheel shacks back and forth viciously whenever the car is running and I move the steering wheel just a little bit. It will only stop once I shut the engine off. It wont do it again if I start it unless I touch the wheel.
Plenty of fluid. Turning the steering wheel quickly with the car off results in it binding up.
Any suggestions??
Also, Still have the 1216 (TPS potentiometer) code, even with a brand new TPS. After about 30 seconds since start up, rpms will drop and it will idle like shit and billow lots of smoke out of the tailpipe
Any ideas?Leave a comment:

I drove it around the neighborhood (OMG it hauls so much ass relative to what I have been driving these past 5 months)
Throwing a 1216 code, so I ordered a new TPS. Arrives today. I havent driven it for more than three minutes due to the code and the chopp idle/low rpms, but hopefully that will change today.
Likers gonna like. And to everyone else, too bad. I didnt build this thing for you.Leave a comment:

After an exciting chase through my neighborhood to find the mailman who had left the note about my package, i was finally able to install the last difficult piece of the build.
There is a lot going on down here. Super solid. Everything torqued to spec.

This is how it currently sits, less than 24 hours away from finally leaving the garage (after I shovel far too much snow out of its way) and propelling my ass around town.

Until tomorrow!!Leave a comment:

I know there are a few of you out there that still dont completely hate this car, so I did this to solidify your disgust for this E30.
Enjoy!

Final two parts arrive tomorrow. I am going to shovel my whole driveway so I can finally drive this thing.
Hooked up the subwoofer this afternoon before work. I forgot how much I love extremely loud music/bass in a tiny car.

Race Ready Performance is where I ordered the dump valve from.
Lifetime warranty and extremely rugged and solid design.

In other news
It fucking started!!
After 9 revolutions this bad bitch fired up and rumbled like the monster that it is. No exhaust (due to the guibo not showing up in time). I was surprised at how well everything went.
Giubo will be here tomorrow and the intake elbow will arrive on saturday. After those two parts arrive I can finally drive my E30 around town. It has been far too long.
Videos soon!Leave a comment:
