    Whoo long ass day.

    July 20 update.

Started out the day, did a couple last minute little things to get the motor ready to go in. We made a little runway from the porch to the car. Its kinda at a slant thats why we didnt bring the car to the engine.

Here are some pics of us fiddling it in there.

So after some curse words and messing around to get it on the mounts finally got it sitting there. Looked a little weird so I did some research on the mounts and found out you are supposed to flip them around. So finally!

Yes I know the valve cover needs to be repainted blah blah.

    Moving on!
I then just started adding all the vacuum and coolant hoses under the manifold. Also had a little mix up with the spider hose but just did some research on the forum and got the right answer.

Then I took a break to go pickup a temp sensor as well as zip ties and misc hose clamps. Installed the e30 brown top temp sensor.

I had a pretty good stretch of time when I didnt take any pics just kept hooking stuff up. The forums and realoem were a lifesaver, helped so much.

Pic of the throttle body hooked up.

So close, is this going to be a problem?

So it got dark pretty quick but I was moving at a good rate so it was hard to quit and this is where I left off.

Sorry about the last few pics (or any of my pics) being shitty. My camera died so I have been using my phone camera the last few updates.

Sooo tomorrow is my last day before I head out for training for two weeks. I wanna hear my e30 start before I leave! hopefully. I still have to install quite a few things so it will be challenging, not to mention adding all fluids, bleeding all systems etc.

Well, this post is probably really sloppy I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open. More to come tomorrow!!!!

Thanks man. Yeah I had to put another pause on the project until august 7th when I return from military orders. I am out in NM right now doing a lot of repairs on humvees.

Think about my e30 everyday can wait to wrench on it instead lol.

            Negative man,
I need to finish mine then I shall help you. Once you rebuild that thing it will only take a few days to put it in since I am now familiar with it.

Can't wait to drive my e30 again.

Well its time I figure I update my thread again. I have done a lot since my last update, sadly not many pictures of the process but I have some.

Once I got back from my AT training for the Army school started and again the project was put off with little progress being made.

So I got the entire harness hooked up and everything put together engine wise and attempted to start it for the first time. Engine cranked and sounded like it wanted to start however wouldnt. Found out my injectors were all clogged except one so I just bought some rebuilt ones and the car started right up!

I thought I would have ton of motivation at this point but ended up getting busy or lazy if you will and putting it off some more.

My buddy Mike MR E30 came into town on some leave to register his newly aquired e36 m3. He helped me out a ton and put me back into the project.

We got all the little things hooked back up, driveshaft, all the interior pieces hood, grills, lights etc. Made the car look driveable again. We then pulled it back to the front yard just in time and he had to head back to San Diego.

I started doing some finishing touches to it myself while I looked into what I was going to do about the exhaust. Decided I was going to end up needing to get some headers and then I was originally going to mate those headers to the stock exhaust for now since I was trying to stay in a budget.

This is where the headache begins. So The car would start and idle but would bog and die under and throttle. I continued on and installed the headers and re wired my o2 which had been ripped off the harness by the PO.

I got it towed to the exhaust guy and got my custom exhaust made, yes I decided to screw the budget plan and just do a full exhaust and I am happy I did.

Headers to a y pipe to magnaflow resonator to a magnaflow muffler 3" piping.

              To be continued...

So then I came back to the drawing boards, posted a couple threads to help me diagnose my problem. Ended up taking off the intake to replace some old gaskets and oring just to eliminate the possible current and future vac leak.

Checked all my sensors, everything was good except the ECS needed replaced and the symptoms seemed right, still no fixage.

Same day I pulled my spark plugs and they were all BLACK. They were replaced for the swap so I knew the car was running super rich cus I did nothing more than idle for maybe a total of 15-20 mins and try to throttle a few times.

The culprit... The injectors the company sent me are 20# injectors, not stock rated. I emailed the company offering them to fix their mistake so we will see how this gets handled, I am just glad I found the problem.

Here are some pics just to throw in.

This first one I got tired of paying for towing so the last 30 mile tow was with my GMC Sonoma 4 banger!!

Then reppin a hometown forum that was just started. Still want to get some r3v and e30tech stickers.

Anyways, I promise a vid of my car running as soon as I am done, not using my phone and a little photoshoot.

Today I plan on painting my (temp!!!!) volvo lip and making a template to drill the mounting holes for my newly acquired rear lip.

Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
