325ix dirt bomber project. Now with more diesel

I have always wanted to have a offroad e30, I finally decided to get on it and start. I had some rust repair to do first.

I have a bunch of old school body kits to choose from so many of these pictures are of mounting them and test fitting to make sure they will work.
The Kamei parts I like the best, but they are more of a pain to mount than the BBS kit.

For rust repair I ordered a new tail panel, brand new rockers and some front jack points/floor pan. I am just waiting on the jack points to show up before I start cutting and welding in the new body parts.

This looks like an extraordinarily awesome project. I really want an IX sometime. A two-door, maybe on some 215's. Dreams...

Got the new floor pan/jack pads in the other day so I can finally start cutting and welding that up. I took the car out for some river bottom driving and had a little problem when I bottomed out hard on at the end of a mud pit... blew the flex disc out, while checking under the car I noticed the front cv boots are cracked up (replaced them 30k ago) so I ordered 8 new boots. Going to pull apart my cv joints, clean them, paint them bright orange, and put them back in. While I have all that out I will be pulling my diffs out and cleaning/painting them bright orange also....

Well, sounds like you know what you are doing.

Reminds me of the good ol days when I offroaded my 86 325es. Way too much fun!

No cutting involved, I will be trimming the front bumper to fit the bbs. Plastic bumpers are a little more common than these kits I have.

                          Bright ass orange!

Still have to do the front shaft and the rear axles. Then its time to pull the rear end out (as soon as I get my trailing arm kit from Robert) I will paint the subframes and arms/strut housings silver.

Really? I've already fullfilled and am fulfilling that, my first car!

Although I kinda disapprove. IX's aren't exactly a dime a dozen, I know I wouldn't rally mine. Yours isn't perfrect though... The body parts are kinda the same...
