    Woot!

Made a brake light switch bracket tonight, works like a charm.

I had plans for smoked crosshairs but couldn't make up my mind so I cleaned up my old H1/H4 setup, applied some new protective smoked film and finished the front end. New euro grilles and euro mouldings are also installed.

Wow I never thought of that design for the brake switch
I bought a hydraulic one but would rather keep the mechanical one

    Thanks for the tip!

Keep in mind if you buy the pedal box bracket from BMWfab it will knock off about $300 from my total. He wasn't making them at the time when I bought my stuff so I had to wing it. The box with pedals is $225, masters are $75 each X3 (they include the reservoirs and brackets) and the fittings all in all ran about $60.

I will definitely be there in August!!

E36 M3 front, 318ti rear... Future will be Massive front and rear.

I have 5/8 front and rear wilwoods for right now.

Here's one I stole from google, this is exactly what I have in mind.

It really is the way to go and now that he (https://sites.google.com/site/bmwfab...30-pedal-mount) is making the pedal mounts again you can't go wrong!

All together the set-up cost about $900, the biggest expense was having the material for the pedal mount drawn and waterjetted ($400). I originally had the E32 bracket welded on the inner fender along with another reinforced steel "eyelet" area on the strut tower, you can still see it in the pictures of the bay. When I took the car to the body shop to get painted my body guy took one look at the mounting area and said no way. Over time he added there could be some serious metal fatigue problems. Considering the extensive modifications to the gas pedal and factory pedal bracket hadn't been started thats all it took for me to scrap the e34 linkage set-up.

There are no provisions for a brake light switch or clutch switch on the wilwood set-up. They make some pretty trick hydraulic brake light switches you basically can plumb in anywhere you like but I am sticking with the factory switch and a simple bracket that attatches using the bottom two studs for the brake master cylinders.

I keep telling myself with the manual set-up I've paved the way for any number of engine swaps now. S50B32, S54, LSX oh my!!

Here's a good view of the completed master cylinder/ pedal box/ non airbag column swap set-up. I still don't have the feed lines plumbed in this picture but you get the idea. I swear the pedals ended up being in the IDENTICAL position as the factory ones were. Even the clutch stop lined up perfectly.

I bought the bracket off of a guy that builds them for spec cars tho
    Looks identical to yours!
I've had a time putting this manual set-up together and I finally put fluid in it Sunday. The brakes feel good although a bit soft up top and I haven't had it on the road yet so I can play around with the bias bar. Suprisingly the brake line bending/ routing was the easiest part. The only thing I had trouble finding at first was the NPT to Metric bubble flare 90 degree fittings directly off the master cylinders.

I should have the new clutch master in tomorrow night and I'll see if the 7/8" is enough to disengage it. I'm horrible at math but here is the equation:

(MC Bore/Slave bore)^2= % of clutch actuation or ratio of master cylinder to slave cylinder

    SOO...

(0.625"/0.874")^2= 51% So the slave only receives 51% of the volume from the master

    Whereas

(0.876"/0.874")^2= 100% So it ends up being a 1:1 ratio which if I had any sense at all I would have started out with the 7/8" master in the first place!! Oh well.
