    Started the dirty work..

Well its time to start painting the car. Sorry for the shity photos because all I have is my phone.
So I went to the local auto body supply store and got a few goodies.

Then it was time to start working.
Blocked out the door with 180. You can kinda see all the shiny spots on the door. Well they are low spots.

I hit all of them with some 80 grit and laid down the bondo.

I have the whole door blocked out and ready for some primer and another blocking. I will have photos tomorrow as it got to dark to take any tonight.

The trunk was bad. I cant even count the dents on both hands and feet.

Anyways, blocked out the whole trunk with 80 grit because of how bad it was.

This was the best way to fix all of the dents with out fethering a bunch of edges.

Then I block the whole thing out with 80 and then 180 then 220.

Then I put down a heavy coat of filler primer and a guide coat.
Tomorrow I will spend a few hours blocking it out and wet sanding.

Here I just got done wet sanding the trunk with 180.
I had a few low spots that I went back and filled in. I also had to lay a thin coat of bondo on the front part by the roundle.

Here is a pic of all the body work done and wet sanded.
I worked my way up from 180,220,320, and then 400.
    All ready for primer tomorrow.

The door lock area was giving me alot of trouble tonight. For some reason I just couldnt seem to get it level and smooth. Then I kinda figured I was working on it to hard. So I would sand on it for a little bit, go to something else. Then come back to it for a little more and then work on something else. Worked out great that way and I finally got it.

    All ready for primer.

Did some body work around the fender lip also since I rolled it flat.
Also fixed a dent or two which is hard to see in the photos.

    All ready for primer.

Well thats it for the night. Should have some more photos tomorrow. I hope they come out as good as they feel. Because when I was done sanding all of the panels felt silky smooth.

on a side note, when Eric, Matt and I went junk yard hopping today I spoted this.

The guy who owned it was a real dick though. Though it was gold, the car was truly beat to hell inside and out. Only reason I stopped was to see if he wanted to sell it.

    look, I do do work..

Sad part is, I didnt realize that I forgot to primer the mirrors. I sanded them down, fixed the scratches and chips. Dummy me left them hanging on the tire rack and didnt paint them.

Yes I know I need to adjust the bumper and valance. The parts was dry enough to handle, but not enough to go pressing on them hard so that I could adjust them..

They are doing construction in my town. I was riding a little lower that day.
I came around this sharp turn and hit this hole that they had cut in the road to fix whatever needed to be fixed. Well I was sitting low enough that it hit one of the studs for the oil sensor and pushed it up and it cracked the pan a smidge.
I have a new one on the way..

I like the satin black. Body work turned out really good too.

Ive seen a lot of guys wet the surface of finished areas to find blemishes. Is that what you did or is the water just from wetsanding? I guess the water makes the paint look as if it was coated with clear thus making it easier to see the inperfections.
