So I finished the car up and have been driving her for a few weeks now.

Anyways Got the rear subframe back together.

Then in the process of putting the diff bush in this happened.

That was a head ache as no one sells just diff covers here so I had to buy a whole diff, so now a have a 3.73 open wheel small case diff in the shed.
Oh well might coming handy some day. Next was rasing the rear subframe back into the car that was a real pain in the ass I would highly recommend two car
jacks as doing it with one is hell. So after a few hours of swearing and beer breaks I had it in.

Hand break and shocks and springs back in.

            Rebuild break calipers.

There was also an issue with the exhaust as you can see the hangers were welded on to the muffler, making it impossable to get on. So chop chop lol.

Then the final issue. Went and put the wheels back on, and oh look.

So the angle grinder came out

            And all is good now.

Here is the car as I left it that night. Ill be posting up some better ones soon with another update that was a bit scary.

So that was a good experiance and once again learnt alot. Not sure what to do now. I think the clutch is on the way out so I think Ill be upgrading to a light fly wheel and clutch maybe with an AKG shifter.

Which machine shop did you take your head to?

Hey...your driving from the wrong side of the car... Good job with all the work. Love how you do things right the first time around...if you're gonna pull the rear end out, just do everything.

Thanks guys. Yeh I live in Bellevue Heights at the moment but will be moving to Paravista in a few months out north. I had the head done at adelaide cylinder heads On port road. They were good the, price was good and the end result was what I wanted so I would recommend them.

Yeh I don't like doing things twice if I am going to do something just do it the first time and be done.

The head gasket was in the order of 2-2.5 grand. mainly due to having to get a second head. As My original cracked at the machine shop while pressing in new valve seats. DJ Buttchug gave me his old head at a great price. With the head gasket job I replaced

                        Intake head and timing gaskets.
                        New Lifters
                        2nd hand Refurbed Head
                        Radius Valve seats
                        New Water Pump
                        New Thermostat
                        New Timing Chain and Rails
                        New Expansion Tank

The suspension run me up about 3.5 grand I think ill see if I can put a price together this weekend. But that repaced

                        New Bushes
                        New Brake Disc
                        New Brake Pads
                        Rebuild Brake Calipers
                        Braided Brake Lines
                        New Hand Break Cable
                        New Billie Sports Shocks
                        New H&R Sports Springs
                        GC Touring Camber Plates
                        New Wheel Bearings
                        New Control Arms
                        New Tie Rods
                        2nd Hand Diff Cover

So all up about 6 grand. lol it adds up quickly. I got basically everything off of Steve at Bluntech.com he is great and will help you out. You obviously need to pay for shipping but it still works out cheaper in the end.

I kinda wish I didn't spend all this money cos I will be starting a new build hopefully at the end of the year, but oh well it needed to be done.

If you need and help feel free to PM me.

Yeah I normally buy from pelican but on here Steve is a psuedo-God so I'll be going with blunttech from my next parts order with him!

So what did the machine shop work run you specifically?

That's a pretty ok sum for a build as thorough as yours, I'd happily pay 6-7k for an E30 318iS as worked as yours (even if the seats are kinda skanky)

Keep up the good work man!

Lol yeh my drives set fell a part while I was at a mechanics fortunatly he had that for me lol.

I think the machine work was about $400 great price. That included a clean crack testing complete refurbish, and the radius valve seats.

Wow, that's a decent price, and M50 head would probably rung a few hundred more hey? Cause I'm thinking of getting a used one and having it worked/refreshed.
