Originally posted by yellow2000S/RPicked up a few parts today. Picked up a factory foam/rubber spoiler, 6 button clock, driver mirror triangle trim panel, and the marker light for driver rear all for $15.
Put new speakers in with fresh wiring to get rid of the factory fader (5.25" Kicker KS5250 all around). The Pioneer DEH-P6200BT headunit came in today with the speakers above and a HITRON HPA600.2 amp.
Just have to finish wiring the headunit and run the ground to the amp tomorrow and put the interior back together. I tried talking him into buying 2 of my old Kicker RMB8 midbass drivers and put them in place of the map holders on the front door panels but he's not up for it.
Already hacking up the interior mounting the front speakers on top of the kick panels. Got some 3/4" spacers and longer screws for the hood release to push it out to clear the speaker grill.
Going to put plastic conduit on all the wires to clean it up some where they're visible.
Do you have a photo of the driver side kick panel with speaker mounted?

I caught that part, just wondering if anyone had mounted that specific speaker or same depth and could still mount the kick panel over it so it is flush again and no need for running spacer and/or cutting the kick panel.

What do you think? Going too big? :nice:
What my kick panels look like:
(I was considering mounting the 6.5 into the doors if I had to, but would hate to cut them up)
UPDATE: I was able to fit a pair of Alpine SPR-60 6.5 speakers behind the kick panels with no clearance issues.
Have to install a oil separator and water pump in the Porsche

The front (cabrio) kick panel speakers (40w) I was able to relocate to the rear panels (25w). Tight fit, but got them in there despite having a larger deeper magnet.
I think after all the over engineering of the chassis to make it strong, speakers were an after thought, because you'll have to do some serious modification to fit anything larger than a 5.25.

Made a trade with my 91 Cabrio for a 92 MBZ 500SL
It already has a decent Kenwood HU, but will have to upgrade the amp(s) and add a sub and mount some rear components.
Hate too see the cab' go, but definitely worth the trade
Soft top needs work to be functional and canvass replaced
but it has a hardtop
And only 97k miles. My cab had 156k.
Freakin huge tires
245/40 18x8.5 in front 275/35 18x9.5 in the rear
Setting on H&R sports and Bilsteins

Did these tires fit with no problems? I'm looking at getting the same ones but don't know a ton about fitment. What tire size did you go with?

After ordering my new rims and receiving them, 2 were correct and 2 were wrong, so I had to send the wrong ones back. Then a week later the new ones came in and were correct. So I dropped them off at a local shop and they had them for all but 5 days and didn't touch them so I picked them back up and took them to another place and they did it in 22 minutes.

And yes I know I suck at taking pics with my iPhone and I almost always cut the bumpers off....To lazy to get my gopro out to take good pics.
