It would have needed it...these things rust if you look at them the wrong way. That's a bit high for an unfinished early model but would be a great project for someone that has no intention of getting a return on investment.
Best case scenario, that car is worth 7K in flawless condition.
Got some better pictures emailed to me yesterday. The carpet redye went better than expected, the carbon is looking great, the stitch work is on par with factory.
We still need to redo the HVAC controls as they are still brown. You can see that the buttons above the HVAC came out great when dyed black to match the new interior. All in all, I am very pleased. Q&C welcome.
Thanks again for looking.
My Biturbo will be back on the road by mid-late February. I was hoping to find a FI engine or at least intake/plenum/tb. But funds just won't allow.
Good to hear you'll be back on the road soon. I'm sure you miss the sound of that motor. Ferrari of Denver is parting out a Biturbo right now and I think it may be an FI car. There is a post about it on Maserati Life.
By the way, you are my hero for DDing an X-19. Always been a fan!

Engine sourced! It from an '89 430. So FI 2.8, one of the intake valves is bigger, water cooled turbos, etc.
I'm going to run the the ignition setup from the 84 and megasquirt for fuel, eventually I'll move to megasquirt for ignition as well.
I'm just concerned how long the Salisbury diff will last. Though I think I've read that they replaced a bunch of SensiTork diffs under warranty with Salisburys.
