Got my brand new brake fluid reservoir today, and I cleaned my master cylinder, too. The 944 booster has paint drying on it right now, so I can't get any pics, but I will get pics tomorrow when I install the whole assembly back into the car. Also got my transmission back, it looks so good, I don't want to put it back in the car!
Started reinstalling the wiring harness tonight, and since I'm not using the ribbed plastic cover over the injector rail, I painted the cover for the coil pack harness with the same semi-gloss as the manifold, and got some stainless hardware for the injector rail, and stainless acorn nuts for the coil harness. Going to come up with some kind of thin cover for the injector rail to just cover the top of it.
Also painted and installed my 944 harness with a brand new fluid reservoir and master cylinder grommets.
Sorry if I missed it but what ever become of that valve cover you were working on! I was courious to what kinda goodness you were going for on that!
The wrinkle paint turned to total shit, and I discovered a hole in the valve cover. So I got a replacement, and I'm taking it and a number of other engine parts down to have them powdercoated here pretty soon. The valve cover and the flywheel I have coming are pretty much the last parts I'm waiting on to arrive/be finished before I put the whole engine back together.
Josh i know your tinkering in the garage... report at once my friend, what is the status?
Nothing to report right now. I can't really do much of anything until I get my parts back from powdercoating, and my recent purchases show up (flywheel, headers, intake kit). And once my flywheel does get here, I still have to take it in to be machined, and get a clutch before I can install it and bolt up the tranny.
Indeed. I decided to go tinker with whatever I could so I pulled apart the wiring harness, and cleaned/painted the metal harness tray, as well as the 2 arms that go under the intake manifold to the block, the same color as the block. They're drying right now, pics later.
I also spent about an hour and went to 6 stores trying to find friction tape (the black fabric electrical tape the harness is wrapped in), and finally found it at Home Depot, so I'm also going to re-wrap the harness. I couldn't even find black hockey tape, all anyone had was white and clear.
