Sorry to bump this thread but I wanted to say I did follow through with doing my exhaust exactly like you have it above.....

    amazing.

heres a couple clips of the exhaust on the M50NV, i still have it but now its bolted up to the S52, it sounds even better... i'll take some proper videos then.

Thanks for info, really happy with the way it turned out

I will get a video as soon as I can, I have a few friends with good audio/video recording equipment, I'd like to get as proper of a sound recording as possible.

Yes, there are finally updates! The exhaust is finally done! Here's a bunch of shitty pictures!

It's finally perfect. The Y-pipe we fabbed onto the end of the headers worked out perfectly. There's a 2.5" stainless V-Band clamp at the Y, then single 2.5" piping back to the Borla ProXS, which is tucked up almost against the body, it has perfect clearance. From the Borla is a single 2.5" to another 2.5" stainless V-Band clamp, then into the Vibrant. There is no noise from the underside of the car, all the exhaust note is at the back, and it sounds AMAZING. Just a light purr while idling and cruising, but when you step on the loud pedal, it roars to life. I'm so happy with it, and so happy that it's finally right!

Yes, I am using the stock rear mount. That's an area where you do want a little ability to wiggle and flex. The shift carrier is cast aluminum, if you turn it into a rigid structure, you run the very likely risk of snapping it during a hard shift.

What you're pointing at with the red arrow is washers, because I didn't want the head of the bolt against that ear, and so I wouldn't have so much thread sticking out the other side.

Less than an inch of play side to side, the lever is centered perfectly in the opening, and it doesn't hit the side of the console when I go into reverse or over into 5th anymore. Just clicks right into each gear and feels solid.
    this^ plus this picture
im excited to install everything and see what it feels like.
i have purchased everything except the rear mount bushing into the body.
i purchased the uuc evo 3 lever
    smaller late style knuckle
    new busing
making the delrin shifter bushing with garagistic

    1)
are you using the stock rear mount, i was thinking of making a polyurethane insert into the original bracket.

akg's delrin bushing has the smaller side of the bushing fit inside the shift carrier and not go through the trans case, im wondering whats this black piece that i am pointing at with the red arrow.

I've always had the Z3 1.9, but I never changed the knuckle at the front, and I had the sheet metal console before I did the 24V swap.
