Someday when I have a lift, that will never be a concern again. :)

Those came out very very nicely. I love the Y-pipe, very clean.

Just got it back in, we started at about 12:30 and had it running just after 4:00 pm. Started on the first crank, too! No issues, the header/Y-pipe combination we built fits perfectly, now I just need to take it in to have the exhaust welded up.

Oh, and this new shift setup with the UUC DSSR and the AKG Delrin carrier bushing? INSANE. I haven't driven the car yet, but just sitting in it rowing through the gears feels incredible. Less than an inch of play side to side, the lever is centered perfectly in the opening, and it doesn't hit the side of the console when I go into reverse or over into 5th anymore. Just clicks right into each gear and feels solid.

Awesome. I can't believe you didn't swap out the shifter sooner... I just had a z3 with stock bushings but even that was an incredible difference.

thats awesome.. I have the akg motorsports shifter with just a stock modified selector rod for the g260/m50.. its meh right now because it has a little play.. but what your saying makes me want the dssr even more.

I've always had the Z3 1.9, but I never changed the knuckle at the front, and I had the sheet metal console before I did the 24V swap.

i purchased the uuc evo 3 lever

are you using the stock rear mount, i was thinking of making a polyurethane insert into the original bracket.

akg's delrin bushing has the smaller side of the bushing fit inside the shift carrier and not go through the trans case, im wondering whats this black piece that i am pointing at with the red arrow.

Yes, I am using the stock rear mount. That's an area where you do want a little ability to wiggle and flex. The shift carrier is cast aluminum, if you turn it into a rigid structure, you run the very likely risk of snapping it during a hard shift.

What you're pointing at with the red arrow is washers, because I didn't want the head of the bolt against that ear, and so I wouldn't have so much thread sticking out the other side.
