    E30 b25 mounts ftl

What a crappy design of the mount though... failed during/shortly after a couple autocross events.

Old vs. new ...and the spark plug/distributor kissed the rad.

I got a set of green hex e28 mounts, but they didn't work as they were almost 3/4" taller! So I went with another set of b25 mounts for now.

M30 1, mount 0? My m20's passenger mount was the same after a few auto-x's only the fan tips touched though. I guess you have no clutch fan do you?

Yeah, when I saw it I ordered all 4 new mounts....right awat. interestingly only passenger engine mount failed rest did not they look almost as new as when I installed them.... so now I have some spares hehe. thanks blunt!

p.s. my m10 went through like 3-4 flex discs, and this one is still good on the one new one since the swap. must have been a bad drive-shaft before...

Haha that's funny you posted this, mine did the exact same thing. Stock rubber engine and trans mounts, both trashed after 3 auto-x's

guess i've been lucky. Mine lasted for two years of heavy abuse. I think the turbo polished them off. They were OEM if that makes any difference.

do you have the bumpers between the oil pan and the subframe? it's supposed to take some of the stress off the engine mounts under hard braking.

my mounts are almost 5 years old now.. as far as I know, they're still fine.

What bumpers? The old m10 had a small "shocks" on the passenger side mounted to the subframe/engine.

Damn, theres no good alternative other than ploy, and that will rattle your brains out. I had an old set fail one autocross, if new ones are just as bad....

Anyone know of a product that will not have this failure and not transmit engine vibration through the chassis?

This x1000. It's your fault for improperly installing your drive train. There is a bracket with a rubber stopper bushing on the passenger side of the transmission bell housing which rests on the front sub frame to prevent the engine from moving forward. Even poly mounts will fail if you do not install it. Use one of your old trans mounts cut down for a new stopper.
