This x1000. It's your fault for improperly installing your drive train. There is a bracket with a rubber stopper bushing on the passenger side of the transmission bell housing which rests on the front sub frame to prevent the engine from moving forward. Even poly mounts will fail if you do not install it. Use one of your old trans mounts cut down for a new stopper.
Never seen one of these before, do you have a pic? Or realoem.com link?
I've heard of the hockey puck trick, how's the NVH with those?
Didn't IE used to make an m20 engine mount reinforcement kit? I looked on their website but don't see it anymore.
But will that bolt up to a G265/m30 swap? My trans does not have that removable section of bellhousing.
that's not part of the bellhousing, it bolts to the block and covers the oil pan. The bumper/brace mounts to that peice.
the ix has something similar only it's mounted on the subframe and touches the pan. there's not much room in there, even if the mounts totally failed the engine still couldn't move forward much.
well if it doesn't your flywheel is probably being exposed to rocks/debris from under the car. :p
ha ha well I wouldn't have left it off, that's for sure. I'm just wondering if the m30 has one. I know the m42 doesn't, the oil pan has a baffle that takes it's place.
Note m30 (e34) oil pan has a "baffle" at the back end that meets up with the transmission, a la m42 style. there is no removable section like there is in the m20:
Also, there is no mention of any such bracket for 260/6 or 265/6 transmissions, or for any m30 that I can find either.
It's a trick little piece for sure, but it doesn't look like there's any way to make it fit in an m30 swap car, our transmissions don't have the mounting holes for it.

Hows the vibration? I don't think my stock units will last long.
Sorry for the super late response... I dont know yet cuz i havent installed them. there for my second E30. My Car in the sig is running IE urethane motor and tranny mounts and i love them. To me it doesnt feel like theres any vibrations but then again i have a 1970 camaro with a 450hp v8 running solid motor mounts.
