for your purpose the autopower cage will be fine. The harness bar is mounted in a nice location and is hans compliant. I may suggest as kish started to that you just put in the rear cage that is not race legal but great for club stuff. will add roll over protection and support 6 point harness without having to worry about cracking your skull in a side impact.

I actually needed to floor mount my seats as my helmet hit the cage on left turns and im only 5'10"

and i wanted to reiterate that r-comps will not help you drive better on a track. you might be faster, but they will cover up a lot of mistakes. mistakes that you will keep making. its better to learn to drive on a decent all-season. and then when you are quite experienced (as kishg said, 30+ track days) you can make that jump.
yep. I always learned that you should learn a cars limits before you do something else to make it perform better. and even when you think you know the limits you might not be at them. also kershaw is correct. a race seat should be used with a harness, which should be used with a rollbar, in which shouldn't be used in the street. It's like the human body. they all need each other to work properly.

        +1000

I started on Falken FK-451's they were good enough to last several track days but not so sticky that you can get away with stupid shit like you do with Rcomps. Plus they are very loud so you they tell you that you are doing something wrong, the R comps dont.

So you can be a fast newbie and eventually a slow solo guy, or you can go slower now and be awesome later, your choice

yes, autopower/kirk are the common ones for e30s, I ran an autopower in my previous track e30. VSR makes a very nice one but is more expensive.

autopower race roll bar, as opposed to cage. it is a 4 point bolt in system with optional diagonal bar.

Good good. Im still going to be running a clean interior and will be dailying the car. But I want to run a 4 point and need the rollover protection would make me feel better.

it would be totally unsafe to run a harness without a rollbar. you can probably find one used for pretty cheap. Alot of people like the autopower bar.

For a daily 4 point for now. Its just gonna be for DE's and stuff for now. Shit most people do in uncaged cars with 3pt's

I would avoid a 4 point like the fucking plague, then again with those seats you probably dont have an option to use 3 points which are generally safer than a 4 point unless you are using the Schroth 4 point that is designed to work with the factory tensioners.

by 4-pt did you mean the bar or belts? yeah, no to 4-pt belts, stick to 6-pt unless you want your internal organs crushed.

good point Kish, thought he was referring to belts but could be bar. so yes to 4 pt bar, no to 4 pt belts and internal organ crushing. Yes to an improper fitted sub belt crushing your nuts in an enduro, wont do that again!
