I'm glad you made it up too! was awesome having you and the GF here for the little bit you got to stay. You better bring the e30! I'll show you all our amazing country roads here.
Loved all the shots and work! you did the s14 right by cleaning and refreshing for seals/gaskets.

I just thought $4500 for all of it why not.

My advice for the S14: store for the 2002 or put away for a future investment, the s14 is better than stock...it will only grow in value!

Had some fun with the s38 car the other day.

Last week we had a day around 50F so I felt motivated to mess with the s14. Well intentions to clean some of the parts progressed into a full re-gasket and cleaning of the engine. One of the dirtiest engines i've ever owned. I'm happy the internals made it seem like it received regular oil changes.

If youre cheap you dont replace the 200 dollar gaskets that go between the ITBs and head. The solution half a tube of silicone so you need to use a pry bar to get it off.

    Breaking down

    cams out

    Cam box removed

    Head removed

Block and other mics parts getting cleaned

    Cleaning ITBs

    Painted block

    Parts back from the blaster

    Coming together. ARP studs installed

    cleaned the head up

Put the head on. Found this useful during the s38 build. Applies to S14

    Back together

    Thanks for viewing. Happy motoring.

    This is great,,,

why dont you just rebuild the S14... bearings seals etc etc is not expensive at all and
you can get the pistons brandnew fro CP or JE or what ever for an affordable price

paint and clean and you have an engine that MANY will buy

OP delivers, also buys all m engines he can find. If you ever find you need to give away one of these engines because you have too many that you don't know what to do with, I'll be around

Picked up an S14B23 and G265/5 a few weeks ago. Right now i'm not sure what i'm going to do with it. I have considered a few options, drivetrain for a future 2002 project, swap out the S38 and drop it in my 325is and make a more balanced car or just hold on to it for parts. Either way nothing to immediate.

Vin number tag is no longer existent on engine however the tag on the tranny is still partially there. All I have is the last 3 numbers, 643 and im pretty sure the number before is a 1 or 4. I have checked M registry. No luck. Just curious of the history of the engine.
