Now that the car has half an exhaust I figured I could take it out and beat on it. The car has the new harness and computer but now has a high idle (around 2K). Ill have to figure this out in the next few days. May try swapping the TPS and IVC and syncing the throttles right.

Fabricated some of the exhaust using what came off the M5. Single magniflow muffler for now under the car.

After what has seemed like forever I have done enough for a new post. About a month ago I came across a 91' M5 on Chicago Craigslist. I booked a plane ticket out there and drove it 800 miles back to NY.

My plan with the car is to take the drivetrain and sell the rest. I know i'm killing a hand built. I wish i didnt have to but the car will need a good amount of work to be brought back to presentable condition. Interior is non existent and the body could use work. Unfortunately it was someones track toy. The engine and the transmission were rebuilt and have about 75K miles on them.

The first thing I have done is swap over the harness and ECU. I have a feelign this is the source of my troubles with the s38 in the e30.

Well I'm joining the party late... This is a killer engine, if my M20 ever dies I'd love to do this swap.

Can't frickin' believe I've never seen this thread. Just read through everything and bravo man! Hope you solve out that injection issue quickly.

Bought an e34 M5 for parts, swapped the harness over to his e30 along with the ECU. I believe he is working out the injection system running rich or something.

That was the last I knew from talking on the phone a few weeks ago with him.
