Forgot my camera at home today :( I managed to pull the m42 out in just under an hour. Piece of cake, tried shaving down the coil brackets and couple other things, not entirely happy with it, but I have no time nor money to repaint and fix the whole engine bay. Pics first thing tomorrow morning!Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

I recommend going through the bay, and try polishing up what you can.

Well here are the pics, it took all of 10 minutes to pull the m42 out. Took a little less than 30 minutes to put the m50 in, I couldn't get a load leveler from anywhere so my father and I got handy with the lift, a jack, a dolly and a cherry picker.
Oh no, where is the m42?
Shaved down the coil brackets
Power washed the engine bay. Pretty happy with the turnout.
Clutch/flywheel on along with the dust cover.
I will be trying to use the m42 downpipe as a y, I rather use this than some shitty maglaflow piece.
Putting the motor in
Motor in ;)
Plugged everything up and when to crank it, starter clicked, We forgot to power up the starter, connected the wire and it cranked but wouldn't start. Wasn't getting spark nor fuel, Found out we did everything right except the harness adapter is the wrong one, so now I gotta wait for a new one. Oh well, did a good job for my first ever swap. Couldn't have done it without my father, Now all I need is the adapter and I'm waiting on the 320i shift carrier, then everything will be bolted up and taken to the exhaust shop!Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

FINALLY! finished everything up, well 99% of it, I can drive it now, but it does run just a tad on the hot side. Waiting on the FFD fan. Today I'll bring the car up on the lift and plug the oxygen sensor in. Engine is extremely smooth and I'm already addicted to the extra amount of torque this thing has. I took it to the exhaust shop yesterday, really didn't come out the way I wanted it, I provided a picture of how it was supposed to look like(picture of some elses exhaust on here)and he told me not to worry, I came back to find that he cut up my stock muffler, I don't know why? now I can't sell it, Brand new m42 muffler, spent about 200 dollars on it, then he had the nerve to tell me it's no big deal that he can weld it back up. Welds really aren't that clean, I could do better while drunk and blindfolded. Told him to use the clamps that came with the headers just in case I need to remove the engine for god knows what reason, never used them and chucked them in the trash, then he swears that I never gave him a center resonator and never put one in so the car has a bit of rasp to it, not to mention a bit on the loud side, oh well, next time I'll send it out to a more reputable shop, enough babbling, here is the video :)
