    Calypso vert project

I picked up a 1991 calypso/black 5 speed vert with 130k miles last night. It may be a slow project for awhile because I have to go back to school in two weeks but I have big plans for this summer hopefully. All in all its a great looking car.

UPDATE 1: Today I went out and bought a cassette adapter to play mp3's on the stock radio, got a spare key cut, bought plastidip, and ordered a solution to the grogginess on the rear window from ebay (i doubt it works but it was $7.49 with free shipping so it couldn't hurt to try). I also took off the the armrest that attaches over the e-brake and the caps on the wheels because only 3 of them have stickers and they were faded replica stickers and not the real emblems. If anyone is interested in a Husco armrest you can pm me, I think i'm gonna post it for sale here soon. Other than that I just took the seats out and cleaned up the carpet, although the passenger seat had lost the ability to slide backwards and forwards so i eventually got it out and im gonna fix it tonight. Things got shut down due to the 33* weather and it getting dark outside. As for the pics!!

I might go plasti-dip crazy as I want to shadowline the trim, and maybe paint chrome on the bumpers black until I swap to plastic bumpers haha

See what I mean about the stickers? I thought they looked stupid, and one of the centers was just black.

Removed the seats and found a whole bunch of trash and change.

Little did i know i bought the car $2.35 cheaper than I thought!!! :D

All vacuumed...and is that a stock amplifier? new amplifier? something else? there isn't any information on it

What is an ethernet plug-in doing in my car? is it a hands free thing for my phone?

Does this in anyway tie into the ethernet plug? its in the upper right hand corner of the windshield

Crappy photo but my casette adapter is in there...funny thing is, the tape won't come out now! kind of a problem, except with the mp3 player I can play my ipod or use my phone on pandora or something so im not trippin

The way i left it tonight...NOTICE the armrest delete.

Great color. Let me know how the plastidip works. I'm co.steering painting or dying the trim pieces I just removed. The kidneys, grill, wiped arms, vents under the wipes.

Agreed. My car had some crazy wiring in it - looked like the guy had a fax machine or something hooked up. Just take your time - follow the wires around - and strip them all out.

I need to have someone photoshop it all done before i go into it...in my head it looks awesome! haha but right now im thinking of plastidiping the window trim, kidneys, grill, the bumpers, and sanding the black front spoiler down and repainting that as well. then i wanna take this black "paint pen-like" thing (kinda like polishing shoes) and go over the black plastic sections on the bumpers and the plastic lines on the side. THEN use this transparent black aerosol paint i've been told about and apply it to all of the lights front, back, and sides but on the back im going to leave the whites alone. Look at what YELLOW2000S/R did with his for reference, i want that. I also want plastic bumpers this summer so it should only be temporary.

so the combination of rain, a 3.2mp cell phone camera, and a dirty car don't add up to much, but here is the car in the natural PNW weather without the centercaps. o ya......and the top is not leaking!!!

So I am going to use my grandma's garage this weekend and plastidip parts I think. still waiting to see if anyone can complete my photoshop request first but who knows. Also, with a black and calypso themed car, i dont know if i want to make the "325i" emblem on the trunk black or if i want to delete it. Im leaning towards deleting it at the moment.

you could be right...i hadn't thought of that...although it just has the stock deck so who knows, would they have plugged the xm into the ethernet plug in???
