thanks guys. I really just want to wash and wax it to make it shine again but with the weather here its not worth it...I just looked through the e30 picnic thread and I can't wait for this years. Hopefully I'll have new suspension and plastic bumpers by then!

Nice work! I know it's a little late to mention now, but the chrome window trim on a convertible comes off in about 30 seconds. Much easier than painting it on the car.

so I went into the trunk yesterday and after a crazy rainstorm found water in the trunk. the trunk has been resealed so it isn't coming from the lid, but would the tail lights be the cause for water both in the "storage part with the jack" and on the right side? Here is a picture of the right side...



And then I lifted up the carpet, are these wires for a subwoofer???

check the antenna grommet.

grommet?...I went out and looked around the antenna on the outside of the car and I didn't see any possible opening as it was all sealed pretty good.

update: just ordered the oem sport steering wheel in mint condition for $40 shipped. Thought it might be a nice change as i have driven with it before and liked it, plus i have the mtech1 wheel in my e28, time to try something new. now I just need to get the adapter. I'm also going to invest in a car cover so that while i'm at school and its sitting in the parking lot it will have some help. Here is the steering wheel...

also if anyone has any insight on the wires in the trunk (subs or not?) and the leak on the sides of the trunk that would be awesome.

Search the forum for leaks. Could be a bad antenna gasket, tail light gasket, trunk seal, third tail light seal or getting through the tonneau cover. Puddle? Drip? Dry it all out and start fresh.

Car cover wise get the four layer deluxe on amazon or retailer of your choice.60 or so shipped. very happy with It. Glued to my car with two harbor freight bungees and tarp clips.
