At any rate, before i was interupted. I got the adapter picked up last night. Looks good and it was cheap. Also got this little gem picked up too. Disc brake full floater for the rear. Looking for a 1 ton front as well.

Didn't dip out, sat back and waited a bit. Don't always choose to live on a brand new forum...
you not mentioned anything yet about being very familiar with the Cuminseseses, that's good to see.
My ramcharger is long gone - whole - and had a 208 in it anyway. No passenger drop parts in my stash for you.
Glad to see a heavier rearend there and happy to hear of more support planned too. Trimming and lowering for the win as well.
If you'd shared more plans initially I'd have had much more faith to begin with. Maybe it'll be done right after all. Looking forward to the progress.- Michael -

Thanks man, Yea. Everyone is new at something at some point right?
What would you say to a divorced D20 behind a 47RE? Im having a hard time finding a Pass drop. But i am worried that will make my rear driveshaft too short due to the already short wheelbase.
I was looking at the Novak kit last night
I have 2 D20s, both of which are pretty healthy, one has been rebiilt addressing the intermediate shaft and the other has low miles.
Thats one of my current hangups.
Got some 2x2x1/4'' tubing coming friday. That way i can get my trans and transfercase members fabbed up. As well as some 4x43x8'' angle for that hoss of an engine.sigpicComment

I wouldn't put a d20 behind a Cummins. Before 571 got built, the CJ5 some of its parts came from shredded two and a half of them with just an AMC 258 and T18 trans (pushing 42s though, it was fine with that combo on 35s). It's a good tcase, but even with all the upgraded parts in a 20 or a 300, I'd be scared behind a any I6 diesel.
I just looked at that Novak kit and they're talking 6 or 10 splines, and a 1310 ujoint. Scary small. 1350 is the smallest joint I'd consider anywhere ahead of the tcase, and I probably would not settle for anything smaller than a 1410 in the rear driveline. Granted this is light(ish) but you're planning on towing at least a couple more thousand too and I'm sure you'll show off once in a while. Breaking driveshafts is a shitty end to a burnout.
One way the 20 or 300 would be great is length though. At 103" you're right to be worried about rear driveline length.
Finding a married passenger drop case for a 47RE will be tough. Off the top of my head, the first gen Dodge Cumins trucks used a married pass drop 205 behind an A518 or 727 auto, but I think the output shaft on the 47 is bigger and I think those were already the largest 205 input - that's the first thing I'd look into though. There are divorced 205s out there, I've got one waiting for my 3500 (driver drop from an early 70s Ford) and 571 runs one (pass drop, old Jeep J truck application, we think). That's a heavy case, but again - Cummins power breaks shit and this deserves 1 ton parts.- Michael -

yea, sorta what i was thinking. Ill stick all of my binder parts up for sale. Finding the pass drop is a bitch from what ive found.
The only reason i would consider a D20 is the thickness of the Steel Cast housing. Those Cast aluminum cases do not inthuse confidence.sigpicComment
