At any rate, before i was interupted. I got the adapter picked up last night. Looks good and it was cheap. Also got this little gem picked up too. Disc brake full floater for the rear. Looking for a 1 ton front as well.

Pretty impressive thread man, I read all through it and it seems like alot of stuff broke. And that you rigged a good part of your dakota. BUT its yours and you do what feels right. You are using average tools and getting the job done. Why not put your dick away and give me some sort of advice i can use.
I wasnt born yesterday, and im not going to sit here and dick measure about fabrication abilities. I have all sorts of things in store for this thing....New Thicker springs, Added frame support and gusseting as well as trimming out the Car to more so fit the frame. I understand what it takes to support this engine. I pull them from FedEx trucks all day.

And the drivetrain doesnt weigh what you say it weighs, We have to ship some of the engine so i have scales. Fully dressed with a big ass allison attached to the rear its far from 1500.

IF i would have jumped on your thread in the beginning it wouldnt have been fair either.

Can't believe I missed this!!! :hitler:

This thing is going to be soooooooooooooo fucking sick when it's done!

    1. It must have a proper snorkel.
    2. Please do rig style smoke stacks!

Carry on with the bastardization! :D

IMHO the OP needs to revise his build a bit for safety's sake if he intends to actually use this thing for any sort of offroading. OP: Why not check out some of the 4x4 fabrication boards? Prove/disprove the comments made and maybe get some guidance on your build that you're not going to get from a sports car based community. You only get one life, be safe. Besides, it would suck to have your project grenade the first time you put it to good use.

Not one thing has been posted that's not copesetic. If Mindfuckless wants to draw conclusions based on his ASSUMPTIONS, then yeah, he's giving "constructive criticism". Oh wait, there isn't one post beyond ideas and basic updates as to where he's at. He came on as a cocky fuck that thought "he'd show them damn queer BMW drivers what real 4x4'in's like!". Not interested.

Again, if he'd started in PM's with some questions instead of delving straight into criticism and insult, then alright. Hell, he could have come in here and just asked a few questions then gone from there. A bitch is a bitch is a bitch.

Judging from your profiles i take it you make have parts for a ramcharger? Got a transfercase?

    How do i start.....

First of all the dodge guy found this thread through a WTB i put on a cummins forum. Im glad he found some entertainment.

Secondly I ditched the binder block because it was heavy(700lbs dry) and stupid to start with. Considering the scout frame is already fully boxed asshat i dont plan on reboxing what the factory did.

Thirdly i have yet to install the ISB or remove the 304. IF i had posted pics of a halfassed fabrication job i would hear out the critisizm. But i havent, I also havent posted that i am a experienced fabricator that is doing this on the side for fun.

Fourthly, Guys install 12 and 24 valve cummins motors in scouts all the time. The fact that i installed a BMW body on it makes it uncapable of handling it?

Fifthly i didnt pick the Thread title, A buddy of mine did. And i happen to like the way it sounds.

    oh yea,

How often does that happen with new guys on here haha.

    ""done right".....

That's a funny phrase. I expect I'll shortly be joining the band for coming in here and poo pooing this "legendary" build but what exactly are you thinking here? What is it that makes this "done right"?"

Nah, that's just thread crapping either way. But, his low post count and going OUT of his way as he's very obviously a 4x4, off roading, lifted bro truck type of guy, I'd say it just makes it a bit more of a "get the fuck out" moment. Again, a lot of PM'age could have happened. Being helpful and being a dickwad are two very different things.

Alright. I can get with that.

If it was in PM's and he blew you off, sure. But, as far as I know, you're just thread crapping without cause or reason.

I enjoy your seeming trail experience. Awesome. But, I don't think it warrants your opening line.

You started out with Just Another Trar (common slang for a car body on a truck chassis). Shortened Scout, not bad. Frame sitting a foot below the floor pans like every other hack job out there? Hardly qualifies as Done Right.

You initially were going to run the heaviest smallblock in existence, with some of the most limited aftermarket support. Good call on ditching that.

But a Cummins? 4BT would be a solid choice. Plenty of power, weighs about the same as the Binder block. But you're seriously looking at putting a 1500# engine is a half ton frame that you didn't box. With no cage to stiffen it, either. And what will have to be huge tall body mounts as well, so the unibody car on top wont help out either. With half ton axles.

A computer controlled diesel swap is pretty complicated too but the ISB (24v) can pretty well run itself. If you're planning on a dashboard, and knowing what's going on - much less running a tuner intended for a Dodge application, that'll get interesting though. At least go for a 12v 6BT setup. Nearly as much power and it takes 3 wires to run it. Okay, 5 if you wan to start and charge too.

Think this pup through a bit first. You clearly have some talent but you're missing rather a lot of experience. Don't build a pile that if you can make it run, will flatten your springs, break your axles an pretzel your frame the second time you put your right foot into it.

Credentials attached. (571, an Ultra4 car I codrive - 350/th350/np205 tube chassis with d60/14 bolt; the dumpbus, my '97 Ram 3500 tow rig with '01 24v swap, mechanical pump conversion, 13sp Eaton trans; and Roadblock, my '98 Dakota crawler - 318/46re/203-205 doubler and d60/10.25 axles)

So you joined a BMW forum just to shit on someone's build thread in public and not over PM's?

    Get the fuck out.

It's been on the driver's side once. The rest is from rocks and trees; following tube buggies takes its toll on the sheetmetal of things bigger than Jeeps.

It used to be pretty, I've had it since it was a year old with 24k on it. A few years, a build, and then it got used for what I built it for....
