M-pars set I was looking at sold... so it's between Style 32, M-Pars or Throwing Stars w/o the covers... wheels will have to wait until car is running and suspension is done first though.

Trying to figure out the differences in door panels since i'll need to replace them...How do the door pulls come off and do they interchange with the leather / one piece kind?

Nice find Jean... E34s are great cars. My 540 is such an awesome vehicle, I love it!

Do you mean M-Systems w/o the covers?
Do that immediately. I am saving up for a set, then eventually gonna run throwing stars. Buy systems now, covers later ;)

Yes, I like them w/o covers though personally. They make replica wheels I guess and they don't look half as bad... any thoughts?

I hate m-systems, especially without the covers. M-parallels are the way to go on e34s!

V8 into the e30 huh? First I've heard of those plans. I'm sure it will look clean!

Lof8 - check out the m60 forum. Basically bought a 540i parts car, engine is out need to start tearing into it to clean it up etc.

So, was somewhat productive day today. Pulled the m20 head, no surprises there really...coolant is clean, no oil/coolant mixture...just broken rockers and bent valves lol.

Started by removing some of the items attached to the manifold to get me some room.

So far so good, icv line was like a rock of course.

                  Hello there broken rockers

Believe it or not, someone replaced a belt with a new one haha.

                  and its off

                    Ordered the following parts

                    - head gasket kit
                    - head bolt set
                    - timing belt kit (belt/tentioner)
                    - tstat / o-ring
                    - water pump
                    - various rubber hoses
                    - injector/fpr o-rings
                    - t-body/heater gaskets

Have a line on a good used head, so hopefully this saturday car will be running and everything goes as planned.

Next order will be brakes/suspension parts. I also want to try fixing the door panels myself, but I do want to replace the material with black to match the dash since I plan on switching the seats to black as well.

Head is in the trunk of my e30, and two e34 m5 sport seats are in the car as well. I had to remove my back and passenger seat to make room.. These seats are fricking heavy

                              Seats :

Cleaning up the used head, replacing a few studs and new gaskets etc...

fail part 1 - removing the 10mm bolts from the back of the head to install new water neck gasket resulted in a snapped bolt.

some new parts to do the job, ps new head bolts do not come with the washers, re-used washers from the old bolts.

block / manifold surfaces cleaned up

water pump mess.... I REALLY like the m30 design over m20 in all of it's aspects to tell you the truth.
