Thanks man. There may a couple being built, some in steel and some in fiberglass... but any with an M60B40, full cage, full coilover/5 lug conversion and built for the street, not the track? I haven't seen another one yet, which makes this one unique... and I'm old enough to be most of the cool kids' dad, to boot!

Yay!
The M3 does have a different inner A-pillar part number, inner front roof skeleton part number and different firewall part number, which accounts for the wider front windshield lip. The M3's were the only E30's to have a bond in front and rear windshield. I think it's a good idea, but I didn't come up with it, sadly, Lol!

That's a pretty bold statement... Vlad's been around the E30 scene a long time and has built many outstanding cars... I've built this one. I think the premise of this build is pretty cool and I'm not following a cookie cutter approach. I'm trying to incorporate lots of cool things into one car, but we'll see how it all comes out. I appreciate the props, though!:D

bingo! Vlad does great work, don't get me wrong, but i feel like he does the same thing over and over again at this point. This thread isn't about him, so I will save it lol. I am looking forward to seeing more updates, so get to it :pThat's a pretty bold statement... Vlad's been around the E30 scene a long time and has built many outstanding cars... I've built this one. Looking great! But why are you lifting the car from the floorpan!!Comment
-
Thanks man!
Haha... somebody else said that on the tech. It's really an illusion because of the camera angle. If you look closely, you'll see the pad that is bearing the weight on that lift arm is actually on the pinch seam and the pad at the end of the arm doesn't have a spacer under it to keep it away from the floorpan, but because of the angle of the camera, it looks like it's resting on the floorpan. trust me, it's not though... I should have just left the pad at the end of the arm off and there wouldn't have been the scrutiny, lol!

Think he said a few posts ago that it was for the street. I hope it gets tracked occasionally though if that is the case, I bet this thing would tear it up on the track.-AlexComment

Wasn't implying any kind of comparison--your build is obviously a one of a kind and I'm following it with anticipation. The fact that you're also older and wiser makes it all the more interesting Garey. I'll be 51 in November and still happily wrenching away on both my E30's. It keeps us young. Thanks man.
