Just regular old 3/16" steel brake line. I buy it in 6' sections and bend it according to what I need. I usually get it at NAPA...

Lookin good man! The reservoirs, accessories, filter, etc... are all packaged in the engine bay very nice, looks like you have more room with the V8 then there is with an m20. Should be nice and simple to work on when you break it!

The key is to not break it, right?:)

I have a teaser pic of what I've been working on... only this 1 picture until I get it further along, which will be soon... enjoy...

If you don't break it, you're not having enough fun!

Hmmm. My first thought is airbox, but I think that is also where you are putting your oil filter. So... 'cold air oil filter intake box'? Lol

Whatever it is, it's clean looking!

Well, look closer and you'll see that the intake tube splits at the throttle body and goes to each side.

I just don't have the passenger side box as far along... and the OEM oil filter housing has been ditched... I'll have pics of that whole deal, once all the parts arrive...

Oh aren't you fancy! Mr. "Look how much room I have in my engine bay, I can even install a whole other intake!" Haha, looks awesome man.

Doing the welded AN bungs on the X5 oil line block? If so, may I call dibs on the old filter setup? ;)

I wonder if you will paint the engine cover and how nice it would look if it was a custom color:)

I don't know... I'm not big on a flashy engine bay. I like it clean, organized and factory looking, even though the swap is definitely not factory... we'll see how it comes together, not ruling anything out...

I have just spenty an enjoyable evening reading this thread , cant wait for the next updates. Great work bmwmech1 Just one question why ceramic coat the exhaust , is it just to keep the heat retainned in the exhaust rather than to the rest of the car ?

That's a benefit, but not the reason. The biggest reason is to protect the metal from corrosion... I spent 20 hours or so fabricating the exhaust and I'd hate to have to do it again, lol! Since it gets hot and cools and hot and cools, it's more susceptible to corrosion and I just wanted to protect it as much as possible. Keep it looking nice, you know...

Thanks for the kudos, too! I appreciate the feedback...:) Good reading for a Saturday night, eh?
