What happens on E30's is the barrel has a powdered/cast metal end piece that when rotated operates the lock mechanism. This has alot of force on it and is made terribly. So when old, used with force or is stiff it will break off. It is easy to replace but make sure you move the window guide rail out of your way so you can remove the retaining clip holding it in place.

Stripped the rear end down with a work colleagues Makita cordless rattle gun (i want one!) work alot better than trying to get the g/f to hold the hubs from spinning like last night....

Ordered some diff seals and gaskets today along with some handbrake shoes as mine are cracked quite badly. Only thing that sucks is having to wait for the parts from Germany.

How'd you manage to get your central locking back? I've been trying to diagnose mine and no luck so far. :|

Yeah it's pretty crap.... if you were told about a 2 month wait thats fine, but if you were told nothing than thats very poor service.

    Moving on.

Removed the rear end today, It fell out except the fact that now the tailshaft has a yoke on one end and is bolted on the other it was a prick getting stuck on one of the studs at the front left. Besides that easy as.

something will have to be done about that before i fit this.
It took a couple of months for me, but I ordered during the black friday sales and they got heaps of orders during that time so I kinda expected it

Yeah, I was pretty bummed about the diff mount but plenty of other people have been using them that way and they have been fine, with that being said I was just going to use it and see if it made any noises and if it did, fab up an aluminium spacer to fit inside the mount

Love the progress you've been making with yours though! Our's are almost twins when they were stock

Well after 1.5 odd months i finally have the Revshift products. The products are great, i wish i could say that about the rest of the experience.

This brings the count of stuffed around orders from the USA to a all time high for me, next time i will make my own instead of buying for convenience.

Just need time to fit them.

I have found a aerial too (well so says the parts guy at work)

Yeah it was made for it. The amount of PM's and emails i have received over the years about it makes me think we will be seeing quite a few more of these done too.

Still waiting on Revshift to deliver my parts. After over 1 month this is a joke!

Not one response to emails and was never given a tracking number whatsoever.

Time to get a refund i think and go with someone reliable like AKG or Condor speed.

I would love to have this rear end done, but as usual waiting for someone else to deliver.....

Yeah don't suppose you have some? wreckers down here suck a fat one price wise and at the pick a part type places if there is a medium case diff (even in non LSD 2.79 or something crappy like that ratio) they rip them out like vultures.

I mean the stub axles that slide into the splines in the diff they are smaller 6 bolt diff to 8 bolt diff. Didn't explain that well....
