Coilovers all done, Calipers painted yadda yadda.

Springs have not settled yet but i am happy with the height (not road legal here at this height however) If the springs settle like the rear it will go 10-15mm lower over the next few days.

I did wind them down as low as they would go to see how it looked but as mentioned above by someone else the tyre was sitting on the spring perch. A 5mm spacer or smaller 205 tyre (i am using 215/40r16, 16x8 +20 rim) or a lower offset wheel would not have this problem at all.

This car does not need to ride that low anyway since it is a daily driver for me and my gf will drive it around regulary (typical woman driver)

Next job is to sort this out once and for all. I want it to look perfect in relation to it's positioning and also be able to use a genuine BMW gearknob.

Oh yeah and sort out the sway bar end links and the M3 castor rod bushes.

I have 6kg front 8kg rear with stock height springs. as mentioned you can purchase shorter springs etc.

That was not necessary in my setip however. Also theyre not wound down all the way in the front in the pictures either.

You can get custom spring rates with the Bc's also, different spring heights(front springs). By the looks of his setup he has the larger 8in. (200mm) springs on the front, with a wider wheel in front say 16x9 the spring will hit the wheels in front causing the coil overs not to adjust lower than they could. I believe they have 160mm, 180mm, 200mm in spring heights.

What are the spring rates of the BC as opposed to being able to order custom rates from GC?

One issue has arrisen however. The sway bar end links that were already modified for this application need a big cut and shut now this suspension is fitted to retain stock geometry.

Something else to think about when lowering your car i guess....

Got the front coilovers fitted. The old 45mm struts were flogged out as you would imagine.

Gave the brake discs a 20 second repaint that came out terribly too haha.

M3 castor rod bushes arrived today too.

The studs were a pain in the backside to remove from the old hubs and fit to the new ones. The loctite sure does work!

They are just screwed on at the stock height atm. I am not sure if they will be as low as you mention, they will be fitted and then i can take a picture of how low the subframe is if you like but i wont be making them as low as they can go. Just to match the rear.

these adjusted all the way down: how low would the front sub-frame be to the floor?

    Long time no update.

Well the powdercoating turned out great. Fitted everything together this morning, and will get them fitted to the car today or tomorrow.

The headlight rings were going to be chromed, but it was price prohibitive so they were powdercoated in a satin black (will use this same colour for the gutter moulds etc in the future too)

HID kit has been ordered and should arrive early this week so i can refit the headlights to the car. The kit i ordered is 4300K 35W to match the late model BMW Xenon globes and have slim ballasts.

The above are just some camera phone pics, will add some better ones later.

    This shows the pitting better.

Started on the headlights today. Dissasembled the crap aftermarket set to use the plastic bracket mounting and removed the good bits from the damaged right hand smiley set i have.

Cleaned and inspected everything i can and cannot use, but looking closer found the headlight rings all pitted and some dirt build up inside the lenses too. So they will need dissasembly and cleaning.

Decided to remove the left hand set in light of this and do the same, guess what more pitted surrounds and dirt inside the lenses.

So there are more bits going to the electroplaters now.
