I guess its about time to share my story and some of my pictures of my s50 swap. So about 6 or 7 months ago, I decided that I would be shoving an s50 under the hood of my e30 with the help of a few good friends in the search for more power!! The main goal for the project was doing it once and doing it right!
I started by buying the oil pan, master cylinder, and booster from my good friend Andy (andyman2487) and from there I knew there was no turning back. ;)
So I searched for about a month on the forums for an engine and found a late '95 s50 on socale30.com that was within 25 miles of where I lived!! So I took my old, beat Ford truck down to downtown SD and picked the bitch up from Ryan

I proceded to go to Harbor Freight, picked up an engine stand for $60, and picked up an engine hoist from a friend and put the s50 into the garage right behind the workout shit haha
I started tearing down the engine and right away knew I would needed to replace alot of parts. The valve cover was cracked, a few of the ignition coils were cracked, a few pulleys were bent (must have been in a front end accident), etc, etc.....(this just meant that I would be replacing these parts with BETTER parts i.e. underdrive pulleys, fan delete, bavauto ignition coils, etc., etc..) :)
A few teardown pics...

I ended up taking the head to an awesome guy in San Diego named HopSing to get rebuilt! The nicest and most reasonable guys by far that I have met in my life! He gave me a great deal and the head came back looking like it just came out of the factory! I highly recommend him if you are in the area.
From there I bought parts as money was available and continued building the engine back up. I bought this torx socket for the head bolts (can't remember where I got it but I can find it for whoever would like to buy one)

Put the head back on with Bryson and put a few things back together. Got the stock headers ceramic coated black and oh course bought some shit from Blunt haha. I got a JB racing flywheel that I am super anxious to try out. Basically just need the cooling system and clutch and this bad boy is ready to go into its new home!! I am finally caught up with where I am at in the swap!
Here are a few more

And the Getrag 260 and 3.73 LSD cleaned up very nicely

Thanks for looking and updates will come soon.
Oh and my e30 at bimmerfest on the left of course with Angus
