    Here we go cabrio

    Heres my new project.
    1991 318ic
    97xxx original miles.
    second owner
    all maintenance records
    straight body
    no rust
    all electronics work great (less the broken antenna lol)

    I've been looking for a facelift cabrio for a loooong time now and i finally got sone one too sell me one.

    New rear seat on its way thanks to two240s

    Plans for it are pretty simple:
    Stage1
    Starting with the undercarriage
    -Ground control/koni full kit
    -camber/toe adj subframe with 12mm rise alum bushings
    -new control arms/lollipops/tie rods/sway links
    -new trailing arm bushings/sway links
    -UUC sways
    -Custom braces to stiffen up the chassis and stop some of the shimmy
    -4 point roll bar

    Here are a few pics of how i got it. all ive done is replace the shadowed kidneys with chrome ones, detail the inside and clay/wax the hood.

    Starting from the back today (it was in the shade)

    Turns out what i thought was peeling was just some spit from a highway snot rocket



    was just spit

    Uncovered some wire re-dos from the PO


    a little wire mod

    No more Cabrio counterweight

    Minus 100lbs

    Replaced this broken antenna with a metra powered unit

    Got a few more goodies on order.

    NEW BAVauto plush floor mats

    NEW Trim pieces for the vert top to cover when the top is down

    Also my big find was a NICE vert rear seat courtesy of two240s:D

    Update, Another set of wheels courtesy of a car i purchased from my uncle today.

    MUUUCHHH BETTER for the time being



    Also took the interior out in prep for some new carpet

            what is up with those front seats? recovered? or just other seats?

              thanks, they are covered. going to put the seats from my iS in it most likely

              Also, it will be repainted. the body has very few flaws and zero rust.

              our team has a booth and 3 pro painters so im pretty lucky when it comes to paint.

                  When you put the rear swaybar bracket reinforcement parts in, realize that slightly more modification is necessary for the cabrio due to the extra reinforcement wall in the trunk.

                    Get ready for another 1.5" of legroom! Cabrio seat mounts don't let the seats go back as far... no idea why, that's just how it is.
                    thatnks for the heads up with the sway mounts

                    and thats awesome. im pretty tall and with the seat all the way back its ok but not awesome.

                    im sure its because with stock seats all the way back there is only 4 or so inches from seatback to the rear seat bottom.

                    Oh and you will hear from me quite a bit in the future

                      I like the start of this. With a little tlc, it will be nice. Azev type A's would look nice for wheels. Or anything goldish.
