I guess with your logic the S14 isn't a REAL M engine, seeing as how it's pretty much just an M10?

It's funny how for an admin, all you do is start shit. More so than anyone else on this forum.
Come on, really? It's totally an m10, right down to the head, intake, cams, ECU, Exhaust...
The biggest problem I have with the US s50 is the intake. But then again, what do I know. I'm just a guy with an NA m20, building an NA m20, which will be severly underpowered, and sound like crap.... ;) Therefore I will not get any respect because I didn't go DOHC.
There is no M-club when a kid swaps an sXX motor into their non M-car. When a pretty girl does it, the jury is still out as to what most "M" owners will say.
And I have to disagree with you on the shit starting... Banny started waaaay more shit than Josh.

lol, ok. If you say so. I didn't know that pointing out how silly something like "you're in the M Power club now" sounds was starting shit, considering you're the one that took it seriously and started calling me an elitist, but ok. I'll try and restrain myself in the future, I'm sorry if I bothered you. And not anyone else.

And the only thing an S14 shares with an M10 is the bare block. But I digress.

Second, the US-spec S50/S52 are NOT true BMW M engines. They were not developed by BMW Motorsport GmbH. They are worked-over versions of the M50/M52 with hotter cams and a few other differences. Same blocks, same heads, same manifolds. The Euro-spec S52 is a true BMW Motorsport-designed and built engine, sharing VERY little in common with the M50/52.

Now I never said there was anything wrong with a US S50/52. I was giving the guy shit because that statement just sounded funny to me. If you REALLY want to keep arguing this with me though, go for it.

People say things like "you're in the M Power club now", and I'M the elitist? LOL. I have Volkswagen seats in my car, for fuck's sake.

Hahaha, I know John. . . So how long has the car been sitting in John's garage?

And if you want it I have a medium case 3.73 open diff.

    Good luck on the build.
