Forgot I mentioned that, I have them laying around and I want to install my 3" SS exhaust. So I am making a custom Y pipe to a 3" Vband connector, then using my tubing bender to make a seamless straight shot out.
I already have the 524t manifold adapters from MMP. Trying to locate a manifold right now.
I have the time, so I am making something to replace the stock junk ones. They will also work great with the port work. I am going to do it, won't take long and will be worth it in the long run.
This is Polly, the m30b35 swapped Ratrod.

I think he was wondering why you're converting a set of M50 headers to use on the M20 when you're doing a turbo soon?I am, but unlike most I just don't throw power onto something and expect it to last. I do things right the first time.
Rebuilt head, MLS, ARP studs etc
In 2014 I am boring out a spare b27 block for a 3.0 turbo build. Changing out the 288 cam for a proper turbo cam. Big plans to come, I just want a beast m20.
Just takes money, I am going with Metric Mechanic pistons/rings, rods.
Already called them last week and talked the whole thing out. Will cost about 3,200ish for the mentioned, then I need a s50 crank, bearings, machine work, new MLS etc. All new rebuild.
I don't want to turn this into a huge 3.0 thread, I am going to turbo the stock bottom end and enjoy it for this coming year.Leave a comment:

About 1hr per side, so including the intake manifold 3hrs give or takes.

As long as its all smooth and everything, I don't see how it could hurt it. How long would it take to port the head?Leave a comment:

Thanks man, glad to have it here to help others.
Well I am changing the rear springs from a 5.25" to a 4". Then installing the adjusters back in and gaining another .5" of drop. I feel the rear end is still too high.
Right now I am waiting on some exhaust manifold flanges to convert Raceland m50 headers to m20.
Once that is done, I am going to convert the engine to a 885 head/intake. Also thinking of porting the head since it is out.
Only draw back is; I don't have a way to flow bench it. So I am not sure I will harm it, but from my last one and pictures of other m20 porting my looks JUST like them. So I don't see how I could hurt the flow.
Not sure if I really want to take the time to do that. yay or nay?Last edited by F34R; 10-26-2012, 07:09 AM.Leave a comment:

You always wonder how I come up with all these deals etc. I check CL every
single day for goodies.
Ok update:
Went over and made custom e30 brackets from stock e21 brackets.

Standard springs from GC for the e30. The inserts are valved by Koni for GC, I am not sure on the over all height of them. Quick call to GC could answer that though.
Anyone wondering the seats will be mocked up and installed tomorrow. I am using e21 stock brackets then removing the base and making my own tabs. Then bolting the seat right to that.Leave a comment:

Cool,
What length springs are you using, and do you have a longer adjuster? or just the stoc one that comes with the gc conversion kit?
You said you have the koni sa shocks/struts, do you know how much shorted tey are compared to bilstein sports?
ThanksLeave a comment:

Thanks bro, and they are chopped 1" and I am about 2" from the base of the adjuster. If I went any lower the car would not be able to turn under the arches. If I cut the fenders up and got a flare kit I could go lower.
The back is not using any adjusters, I am using two polly GC cones. One on both nipples top and bottom. then just the spring in the middle.Leave a comment:

How much are your housings shortened?
And how low are you on your collar? Are you as low as you can go?Leave a comment:
