Forgot about autocross pics!

Got the girlfriend to ride along with me:

Next run group I gave my helmet and keys to my girlfriend.
Got her strapped on... err... in?

And away she went!!

She actually did very well for her first autocross ever. I was proud!
Thanks!!!-AlexComment

Just a little of what i've been up to lately :)
2.8L M20 time!
Build specs:
M52 crank
130mm eta rods
Short skirt B25 pistons
Hoping to eventually run MegaSquirt
This weekend I tore down the spare engine that I will be getting my bottom end from. This way I can build a 2.8L while I can still drive my car.
Engine before teardown

The transmission, he is called Steve.

Can you tell I was cutting corners? :)

Ghetto fabbed breather tube rofl

Me thinks there was oil in the coolant...

BMW approved crank holder :)

Front timing cover off; this engine will need some SERIOUS cleaning.

Bye bye crank

Everything all packed up

Question though: Does ANYONE know where I can buy new OEM wrist pins or will I be fine re using the eta pins? My M20B25 pistons I bought didn't come with the pins.-AlexComment

Got lazy and forgot to update this. Replaced motor and trans mounts with AKG and reaplaced my sway bar bushings in favor of the nicer IE reinforced mounts and bushings. Really nice piece, I highly recommend these.
So here are some shitty pictures!

While I was in there I also built my own homebrew shifter. Started with the early model sheet metal shifter console, cut it up a bit, now it is a solid mounted shifter.

Sat a little tall...

But a wooden shift knob that a friend made me fixed that problem!

Stay tuned for some "full race" updates

Bet that knob feels good in your hand.
Full race? Ripping the interior out? Nice pick on the stroker combo, same setup as the one I built for my brother.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

The knob feels awesome, so does the shifter. A lot tighter than worn 27 year old bushings that's for damn sure! Still need to press in the needle bearings though to get rid of that last .1% slop.
No, not that full race. 'Semi-race' I guess. And that motor blew up actually.-AlexComment

I posted all this in another thread. Just putting here for the sake of it all being in one place.

Spring rates are either 450-500F (Can't remember wheat I installed on the car) and 275R. True coilover setup in the rear using a double-shear bracket to mount the top eye... the bracket is about 1/4" thick so before anyone tells me to reinforce the rear... it's good. To be safe though a friend of mine might be building a bar that will tie into my diff.
Here is the dyno plot of the front shocks... a little off on the compression side, but I don't plan on running 15 clicks of compression anyway so it's cool! lol
Here is the MCS front vs JOM front. LOL.

Fronts in:

So here's what caused me to pull the rear out in such haste:

Cleaning the diff before it got resealed

My variation of an RTAB press. I realize I forgot to take pics of the RTABs.. but they are AKG.

Revshift 12mm riser bushings. Nice and frozen.

Diff spacers (had to use grade 8 washers on one bolt because I lost the spacer :drink:

Everything back in!

I'm really bummed because I was registered to do a Porsche Club HPDE this past weekend at a track that recently opened up here. But Murphys Law took full effect (who am I kidding, I make Murphy look like an optimist, but that is neither here nor there...) while I was doing these bushings. So no track pictures for you guys yet :(

They retail for $6,400... yes they are definitely worth it. For a street car not so much, though.-AlexComment

Not much of an update, but the "low mileage" M20 I bought from another forum member developed a rod knock and 100 miles later... kapow! Engine is toast. I'm going to go buy a daily beater E36 tomorrow, but that's a topic for another day. I realize that I would not get anywhere near what I want for the car, so I've decided to keep the E30 and make it my bitch.
Started working on stripping the interior this afternoon and made some decent headway. Got the dash, rear seats, and the radio/speakers. Eventually I will remove the sound deadening and unused wires. The finished result should include a flocked dash, a roll bar, and I think I'm going to spring for a set of RaceTech RT1000.
I'm not sure if the carpet under the console is really dirty or if the carpet is just really faded. Probably both!

As far as the engine goes, it's going to be pretty basic. I have a seized 2.7L M20 (81mm crank, 130mm rods, B25 pistons, block shaved 2mm) that I built and later seized up. So I'm going to see if I can get away with buying new bearings and some machine work to get it back up and running.
I've also got my 3D printer about a week away from being finished, so ideally this build will be featuring some 3D printed parts!
Stay tuned-AlexComment
