The car looks like it moves properly! Holy crap that looks like fun. The videos are awesome.
Are the rears rubbing a ton? It looks like you'd benefit from stiffer rear springs (stop the rubbing), and it might reduce that longitudinal weight transfer out of the corners and balance out that light weight front... That's what it looks like from watching the videos, what do you think?
Big day of work planned so I am getting stuck into it!

Ok quick update before racing tomorrow.
Today we fixed the alternator bracket. I couldn't get ahold of a M3 bracket or anything that looked the same. I ended up getting a M20 (I think) bracket off a friend and customized it to fit. I just bent it like the original.
A quick clean and coat of paint and it was set to go. Installed it fine and I can now adjust my belt to the correct tension!
We also bashed the inner rear guards for better tyre clearance.
After I had an issue with a wheel nut at Mt Cotton I decided to retire the wheel nuts and install some new ones to be safe as the old ones looked a bit second hand.
Apart from that we just went over the car and double checked everything.
A few quick pics

Here's a tip...M10 uses the exact same bracket as S14. I worry that the M20 bracket will not last due to the offset mounting hole and the hole in the center. S14's often shear these brackets around those area's."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj

Well my first race day is done and dusted! To say it was a success would be a understatement. I have an absolute ball and can't wait to get back out there.
First a bit of background about the category I was racing in. It was known as the Queensland V8 series in 2012 but due to smaller numbers they decided to open the invite to cars. Cars around the late 80s early 90s period could race in this category. They changed the name to Queensland Touring car championships. There were 14 entrants in the class, 5 BMW E30s, the rest were V8 Holden’s and Fords.
First up on Sunday morning was qualifying and it was the first time I had driven this car around Lakeside raceway before so it was a bit nervous. It was also my first time driving on Hankook slicks.
Qualifying went very well. I did have a little off which bent the bumper up (see video below). I think this happened because when we reinstalled the gearbox we overfilled it a little thus had gearbox oil leaking from the breather hose. Combine that with tyres that were going off and it wasn't hard.
I ended up qualifying 6th but because it was my first race so I decided to start from the rear of the grid and watch what happened from the back. Starting 13th by the end of the 7 lap race I was 11th and very happy with that result.
Race 2 I gained 2 more positions and finished 9th.
Race 3 was the finale race and the heaven opened up! It poured down rain about 30 minutes before our race and wasn't easing up. We swapped back to my Yokohama A050 soft tyres. A few of the front running V8s didn't have wet tyres so I moved up into 7th place for the start. Coming onto the straight viability was terrible. You could hardly see the car in front. I got a good start and tucked in behind another E30. We both passed 4 cars to make it a BMW 1,2,3.
It was a difficult race as the drivers side wiper also decided to break and the windscreen was fogging up!
Overall I am hooked on racing and I can't wait for the next one! Here are some pics and a video of my off. I will upload videos on the races in the next few days.
Note the front bar pushed up after off.
Check out the drivers side wiper arm.
