I think spec just lost a lot of business because of your posting on r3v concerning the spec clutch. It's miller maf insesent all over again.

Wow... if they don't send you another disc + a $250 refund or offer a full buyback someone in management went full retard. Not sure if they know how many people read this thread... in any case, they're gonna have a bad time unless you aren't.

Hope everything works out, I'd be fuming if I got dicked over like that

question. Is it at all possible that the shaft it self is bent? Just saying it is extremely rare to have the same exact issue even with cheap parts which yours are not cheap at all.

Have you considered an F1 Racing clutch?

EDIT: On second check, looks like you won't hit 500 hp/tq with the f1 kit

No one makes this car anymore. The government won't allow them, normal people won't buy them. So it's up to us: the freaks, the weirdos, the informed. To buy them, to appreciate them, and most importantly, to drive them.

Wow! Spec if definitely dropping the ball on this one. How would somebody BEND a clutch disc installing it?

I need to put a better clutch in my car soon and it's nice to know who NOT to order from!

Installing the trans from below and letting it hang on the input shaft, or using the bell housing bolts to draw the trans in, rather than letting it seat easily on it's own. We have seen it more then once. This is why when Kam explained the symptoms earlier in the thread, first diagnosis I listed was a bent disk. In fact if you search for "clutch won't disengage" and look through threads, tons of them come up where a bent disk was the culprit.

Spec had me take some measurements on the new disk. does this seem excessive or normal?this is how high it sits off the table and its only the one area.

I think I see what you're talking about, as far as being off axis goes.

Sorry we all had to learn at your expense, but I'll definitely be checking my clutches for runout in the future. This really has to be unbelievably frustrating....

I would measure the first clutch disc as well. And compare them. If the measurements are very similar then you have an arguing point that it was bent when you bought it as well. They could both be crap from the same mold that got past quality control. If one got through chances are high that more got through as well. Then you would not lose any money. Or own any expensive paper weights.
