Not a bad start at all, I would kill for your bumpers haha.

As far as the inspection light question you had, yours are working properly. When they are reset, all the green lights (5 on mine) should light up with the key in the ignition, then they will go out once you start the car.

The roof on my car was shitting me. The paint was almost white, I`m not the kind of person to go and spend a grand or so to fix up some paint when i can spend that cash on some suspention or brakes or power. So the idea was a bit of a wet dry 1200 sand then some polish and a wax! it came out better! not 100% but its better if it goes back to white i might just paint it my self or vynle wrap it!

Before any work this is what it looked like.

I wet the roof and took to it with some 1200 grit wet dry paper once the roof felt smooth i let it dry and then attacked it with some Autoglym polish and then with some autoglym highdef wax the result is this

As i said not 100% probably not even 70% but its better then it was! it cost me $1.25 all up so i think it was worth it. Then i gave her a quick wash to get rid of all the polish and dust from rubbing it back.

started on the bit of rust that is at the bottom of my rear bar. It started as a 2cm round bit of rust from what i could see. After a bit of time with a wire wheel and a sander i got rid of all the rust, i gave it a quick hit of some primer and ill now go to a panel shop to get a plate welded in then ill paint it.

this is the rust cut back and hit with primer.

Also my car came with some strange seats i have not seen them in anyother E30s the have a pump up lumber suport if that is any clue

started to fix up the boot i pulled all the carpets and spare wheel out (there was no sound deadning) and started get get it ready for paint.

this is what it looked like.

                          then all pulled out

then cleaned sanded and small parts of surface rust taken out and areas where the rust was got hit with some converter and primer

tommorow ill prime the whole boot and then get some paint mixed up.

Amazing find on the 318i! Its good to see people fix old cars and give them a new life. I have an '84 318i that was a started M20B27 swap (did not run and was in pieces), that I decided an M50 would be the a better choice of engine. I like your wet sand with 1200 grit idea. You gave me hope for the appearance of my car! Good luck with your car!

Those are some ugly seats, but the bumpers are sweet!
