me and stuart lookd for the 5.0 badge for you at the yard today, but no dice.
I tried to get him to get you a "Custom Classic" badge off some Lincoln Limo, lol.
I do, however, happen to have a "5.6" badge in my garage (from a Nissan Titan) if you want it :)Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

My friend went to the junk yard today and pulled some stuff for me. Firstly some m20 coolant hoses, so I mocked/ cut those up for how I want them to fit.
Some close clearance with where the exhaust will be, going to have to wrap the exhaust/ pipe.
Other bits.
Got one of my blanks mounted, looks pretty good if I do say so myself!
Exciting! Got my rad fully mounted hahah.
Made a simply little bracket to hold my brake fluid container in place.
Mounted.
Some updated pics of the rust repair, obviously not finished on any of them yet!
Don't worry about this bit, it will be getting taken care of professionally soon, I just don't want it to rust at all.
This door rust repair came out well! Just need to blend it a little bit.
Decided to finally swap my mirrors out for a little bit better ones, until I paint/ refinish my current ones.
Newer ones on left, old ones on right.
Screw in 2 bolts, plug a wire in and you're good.

You should give SheldonSpencer some extra credit on those hoses. Apparently the yard did NOT drain the coolant system from that car, and when he pulled the hoses he got anti-freeze all over him. Then he had to pull hard on one to get it off and when it gave he busted a nice bloody gash into his knuckle.
I, of course, stood a few feet away and provided moral support and advice throughout all of this :)Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

I'm trying man! Car is going to be back at my house tuesday, so I'll have a lot more time to work on it! Picking carbs up by the end of the week and placing my last (hopefully) enormous order from Summit Racing.
Also, in an effort to keep things simple, and incredibly easy to diagnose, heres how engine wiring will go:
- Tach: Need to tap a wire in dizzy, run back to engine side c101 connector.
- Alternator: Main wire back to c101.
- Starter: Run back to dash with push-button activation.
- Fuel pump: wire in relay to c101 connector.
- Fan: dash switch.
- Choke: dash switch.Last edited by FunfGan; 06-17-2012, 04:16 PM.Comment
