Wheels are off till summer haha, so probably not happening for a while.

Also, car will probably not be driving till summer. Long story, lots of work being done including engine rebuild and switching to EFI.

    Go here be happy!

Have you considered a rear exit? There's something sexy about a big engine with a tamed exhaust note. Then again, if you simply love loud, then carry on. :pimp:

As a German i should hate what you have done to one of our beautiful be-äm-we's, but i love it! Enough to start looking for 5.0's, but theyre extremely expensive here... Wait, can i use that one?: :hitler:

Have you ever put the Car on scales? Would be really interesting with all the weight distribution discussion going on for there swaps.

Awwww yeaaaaaaah ;) Glad to hear :) No sorry sir, this one is mine!

Well, by my calculation, the swap weighs about 50 or so pounds heavier than an m50/ g260 combo with all accessories, and aluminum heads drop ~80lbs, so... I am very excited to finally get it on the scales at some point, though.

For now, stock EFI, but Megasquirt is most definitely in the plans.

did you have the tranny already on the motor when you dropped it in? Or are the bolts accessible after the motor is in to put it on afterwards?

Because doing the 5.0 swap requires so little work anyway, right?

If you need any help in that department hit me up. I just finished my MS box the other day. Of course I now have to change some things to run the 5.0 motor, but either way hit me up if you need anything!

Honestly the 5.0 swap is as easy as swapping an oe engine. Mounts are all fabbed for you. The pan is fabbed for you. The driveline is fabbed for you. All you gotta do is drop it in and rewire. The exhaust is a bitch to keep everything up and to snake it through if you keep mandrel bends. Ive got 2.5 -3" and it was a bitch to get it past the engine, subframe, starter, and frame.

                            I see a market for a 5.0 exhaust kit.....

                            Hmmmmm....

Thered be a better market for an e30 5.0 header that didnt require removing the steering shaft to get it out.

Interesting. Is the clearance an issue only when mounting it in the original orientation? I was under the impression that most people mounted the headers backwards. The motor I have already has a good set of shorties on it.

I'm about to do the swap, so I am soaking up as much information as I can beforehand.
